The importance of serial #ctDNA monitoring in #MBC @CCR_AACR. Really enjoyed helping to mentor Saya Jacob @NU_IntMed. A rising star that @UCSFCancer will be lucky to have!

The organ tropism of #Metastatic #BreastCancer derives by multiple #liquidbiopsy features. Intriguing associations: #ESR1, #CTC with bone/liver involvement, #PIK3CA with lung. First steps towards a #PrecisionMedicine monitoring algorithm? #ctDNA #bcsm #MBC ejcancer.com/article/S0959-8…

Proud of my uncle for publishing in @NEJM. A great role model for a physician scientist. @MoranEyeCenter
Macular telangiectasia is an etiologically complex phenotype. This study used a combination of approaches to identify both genetic and environmental risk factors for the disease, both of which affect lipid metabolism. nej.md/311sk8P

Important perspective, but in an era of transformative team science, one does not need to pipette, work with mice or zebrafish or be R01-funded to be an impactful physician-researcher. Maybe we need to redefine who we consider to be a "scientist".
