Jamie Carragher on Alexander-Arnold: “I’d have him back. I think he made a big mistake leaving. But if something benefits Liverpool Football Club going forward, when you think of the problems Liverpool have at right-back…
“Ronald Araújo has been fantastic, but we do have a problem in terms of the full-backs’ passing. We’ve definitely missed Trent’s creativity.”
🥇 | @JacobsBen and @alex_crook: Liverpool are interested in Alex Scott but have less urgency than Chelsea to sign a midfielder in January, with Chelsea ready to prepare an offer around Bournemouth’s £100m asking price.

With 6 goals already this season, Alexander Isak will finish the season with __ goals in all competitions.
Fill in the blank.
2. Virgil Van Dijk
4. Sadio Mane
5. Mo Salah
7. Alisson
17. Roberto Firmino
19. Trent Alexander-Arnold
26. Gini Wijnaldum
A throwback to 2019, when Liverpool had SEVEN players nominated for the Ballon D’Or. What a team we had back then.
Van Dijk on Liverpool moving forwards without Mo Salah: “What Mo has done for so many years as a winger, I don’t think anyone can replicate that. What he did was incredible. The same goes with Sadio and Bobby.
“Hopefully that is going to happen again and that is what we work for, but now it is time for others, and others have to step up.”
Wirtz: “I genuinely couldn’t care less what anyone has to say about me, so anyone is welcome to talk about me.
“I just play football because I enjoy it and, of course, I want to be successful.”
Wirtz on the noise around his displays: "Maybe I'm just an interesting guy! I just play my football. If people want to talk about me or judge me, that's their job. I'm not focusing on that. I just want to play football and I can't do more [than that].”

We simply have to activate that buy option.
People mention his age but he’s only 27 and he gives absolutely everything every game. We’re not finding a better RB for £46m in this current market.
Iraola on Araujo: “We all enjoy Ronald fighting, winning the duels, even the physical, he wins two duels in a row… defensively he’s been really good and I’m happy for him because I’ve taken him out of the game last two games because we needed more offensive things at half time. He has continued working with no issues. Today we needed him more and he gave us a good 90 minutes.”
Iraola on Isak: “He’s a striker that if we can put him in those positions, we can provide him good crosses, good situations he will score the goal no? In this case, Bradley [Barcola] winning the duel, going 1v1, being faster than the opposition and finding good spots.”
Iraola on Florian Wirtz: “It is not just about the numbers. It is about being better with him on the pitch.”

Really feel for how unlucky Wirtz has been in having both the Sunderland goal last season and today as own goals, but I know what I’ve seen from him recently.
This is a different player and he looks like he has self-belief. Really hope this is the start of something special.
Wirtz on his ankle injury: “I think it should be alright. It’s not too bad. I don’t know much yet, we have to check it, but it won’t be long.”
