When i started my practice of child psychiatry in India, i knew it is not going to be anything like what i learnt in the UK.
India has pay-as-you-go system so anyone ready to pay the fees can get my appointment. Always less than 20 working days waiting list. Emergencies are seen the same day.
This creates a strange situation -
Less than 50% new kid-patients get a diagnosis. ANY diagnosis.
Commonest diagnoses are ADHD, SLD, Autism.
Second common group is - Anxiety Disorders and Depression.
If i were in the UK, 95% of my current patients will NEVER see a child psychiatrist.
And still here i am. India needs its own, Indianised training program. Western model based in tertiary care institutions does not really prepare you for the world outside.

Two horrific incidents. Strength to the families of both girls - one brutally murdered, the other beaten nearly to death but fortunately survived. Indian society desperately needs an overhaul. Things were already grim for women and girls in India, MRAs have only made it worse.

I donno why he is still alive and why he is not put down like a rabid dog. The videos that have come out are too painful and violent to be shared, but some how I feel too much of gore, violence and watching slasher horror movies also play a role in such things, at least i have never heard about chainsaw massacres in India though texas chainsaw Massacre movie become cult hit in usa in 1974 leading to hundreds of such movies, even in US, it is rare.

Because women out there have to be very cautious around men. Guys have a huge ego issue and you never know what they might do.
