Every single day, all of us are a little closer to Enlightenment. Well... at least one day closer! 😎
The journey, of course, has its own Snakes and Ladders.
The snakes are our greed, hatred, dishonesty, cruelty, ego and other actions driven by ignorance.
The ladders are compassion, kindness, meditation, wisdom, selfless service and helping others without expecting anything in return.
Every good thought and deed helps us grow. Every selfish act or indulgence pulls us back.
And here's the interesting bit: In many Indian philosophical traditions, the journey towards liberation isn't confined to one lifetime. The cycle of birth and rebirth continues, with Karma playing its part.
So don't get disheartened if Enlightenment seems lakhs of days away. There isn't a mathematical scorecard or a fixed number of good deeds to complete. It's a journey of gradually shedding ignorance, attachments and ego.
The destination may be distant, but every little step towards wisdom matters.
So, as they say...
KEEP WALKING! 😎
When you write a story ensure there are no logical slip ups!
Here are two contradictory statements
"I've been saving for this trip for almost two years.”
“He called me three months ago. He apologized for everything, and we started talking again.”
Visa Officer: “Why do you want to travel to the United States?”
Applicant: “My elder brother has invited me to attend his wedding. He wants the whole family to be there.”
Visa Officer: “Your brother lives in America?”
Applicant: “Yes. He's been living there for almost fifteen years.”
Visa Officer: “And you've never visited him?”
Applicant: “No, sir. I've never had the opportunity.”
Visa Officer: “What does your brother do?”
Applicant: “He's an engineer. He works for a construction company in Texas.”
Visa Officer: “Who is sponsoring your trip?”
Applicant: “I'm paying for everything myself. I've been saving for this trip for almost two years.”
Visa Officer: “How long do you intend to stay?”
Applicant: “Three weeks. I have a business to return to.”
The officer looked through the applicant's documents before asking another question.
Visa Officer: “Your brother has offered you accommodation at his house?”
Applicant: “Yes, sir.”
Visa Officer: “I noticed something interesting. Your brother's invitation letter says this wedding is particularly important to him. Why?”
The applicant went quiet for a moment.
Applicant: “Because he almost didn't invite me.”
Visa Officer: “What do you mean?”
A smart fridge will ping your phone if you leave the door open.
Our 30-year-old apartment's low-tech lift simply keeps shouting, "Please close the door!" until it's actually closed. 😁
And why the heck can't the fridge do the same instead of taking the hi-tech mobile notification route?
Sometimes, technology needs to get smarter by becoming a little less smart! 😎

No car can go from either side thanks to this mindless parking.

Fascinating and unfathomable, the depths humans can explore beneath the sea!
Last month, China's new drillship Meng Xiang pulled up rock from 4.9 km below the sea surface.
That was only a rehearsal. The real goal: drill through the ocean floor into Earth's mantle, a boundary humans have never crossed.
This week’s #SundayScience unpacks the engineering and the stakes
Visited a Škoda dealership this morning to check out the Kylaq.
After the test drive, I asked about the price and any discounts.
The Sales Executive firmly stated that neither the company nor the dealership was offering any discounts.
Interestingly, before my visit, I had read a news report mentioning a ₹40,000 dealer discount!
Enough said. 😎
This Diwali scared of buying sweets even from reputed shops in Hyderabad

I'm doing a different type of meditation for five decades.
What I've realised is apart from the many other benefits meditation increases our tolerance levels, we tend to accept people or situations more easily and also forgive people more than ever.
I have been doing Heartfulness meditation since my 2nd year of medical college.
I have noticed plenty of changes in myself over the years.
I have also been observing Heartfulness practitioners over the last 2 decades, strictly in the capacity of doctor, who is interested in human psychology.
My observations:
- People who have been practicing Heartfulness meditation as prescribed by our Guides have been able to forgive others.....routine general population struggled with this.
- People who have been practicing Heartfulness meditation as prescribed by our Guides have been able to overcome loss of a loved one, whether it is a breakup of a relationship, or death of a loved one. The love didn't leave them, but they were able to transform that love into something more divine that propelled them onwards in their spiritual journey.....
In other words, they have "been able to move on".....a deeper meaning to life still persists despite the loss....
The reason for both the above - opening of the Heart through meditation.
Purely my observations🙏🏼
