I had a chance to talk to Game Developers for Unite in the early stages of the game. They were absolutely passionate about the game. Sadly there were lots of issues that I know behind the scene which cannot be shared with the public for UNITE's path to this conclusion, nor will it make sense for the general public anyways. It was the major reason that led to me departing the game as one of the fastest growing Creator (if not the fastest for a period of time) for UNITE. I wish creators and the community will not be so quick to point fingers towards the obvious "villain Timi Studio" for "fumbling", although it might be the easiest way to engagement farm, which also shows the ignorance of game development and publishing. Ultimately, a community is its people, and the game is a vehicle. We might change vehicles from time to time in our lives, but the community is what matters. The gaming landscape is shifting forever with the disruption of new technologies. It's scary, but I believe the Future is bright and awesome.

Trust me when I say I understand the frustrations some of you might feel about the game shutting down. I put in countless hours of my life, not just playing it, but building one of the biggest communities for UNITE. Regarding information I cannot share, I mostly want the to focus on the positives, but to put it in simple terms: 1. Timi is NOT the publisher of the game. TPCI ultimately has the IP right, the publishing right, aka, the final say on every decision about this game really. 2. There is a fundamental difference between Developer and Publisher of a game. Sometimes, a game can be built and published by the same team. Often, they are not. Blaming the Developer for Publishing is like blaming the builder you hired for doing exactly as the blueprint you have given them when the house turned out ugly. 3. Within major corporations, there is usually complex layers of structuring, something as simple as giving creators free in-game items to promote that might seem like no brainer to most is actually infinitely more complex than most of us think. ... There are many other reasons that I will not go into details. I hope just these pointers are enough for the reasonable people. I wish the best for the community, for the people who worked and is still working on this game, hope everyone is able to transition into their next chapter safely in this rocky economy. I am not affiliated with any of these companies. I feel bad the game is gone. Just want to send some positive energy towards the community to move on. peace.

China’s drone control system has gone insanely next-level. 33,615 drones completed high-precision flight simultaneously, looking like they were building a parallel world in the sky. This has also refreshed the Guinness World Record that China set before.

Bruh. This is cool.
China holds an aircraft design competition for university students. Planes touch and go repeatedly, dropping “bombs” from different altitudes to test "bombing" accuracy. This one has an empty weight of 4 kg and can carry 14 kg of sandbags.

Three giant solar towers have been connected to the grid in Qinghai, NW China. With 63,000 mirrors arranged in three circular arrays, the project is described as “three suns in the sky.”

🚨 MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: YouTube will start prioritizing original content and reducing re-uploads (RIP clipping) YouTube has just announced one of the most impactful changes to its short-form algorithm. Its recommendation systems (the algorithm) will start to further prioritize original content and reduce the reach of content re-uploaded from other creators without adding anything of your own. They highlight this shift toward originality, where channels with primarily re-uploaded content will see less distribution within the Shorts feed. It also seems like they’re really trying to put the focus on content with real value, while highlighting that YouTube doesn’t want as many “minor technical edits” or “template-based” changes. Which is basically all that clipping was in this industry. Overall, while this will piss off some people whose entire careers were built on the premise of other people’s content (mostly clippers), the change itself is amazing and will finally address the overall quality issue we’ve been seeing.

My neighbor finished paying off her house in 2024. She bought it in 1994 for $78,000. Thirty years of payments at $593 a month. She's 74 now. Social Security pays her $1,910 a month. That's $22,920 a year. The place two doors down sold for $615,000 last spring, so the county reassessed hers to match. Her tax bill this year: $8,100. That's $675 a month. She paid $593 a month to buy the house. She pays $675 a month to keep it. Thirty years of payments ended and the bill went up. The deed says she owns it. The county bills her like she's renting.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

The Real Experience of using CyberCab today as an avg. customer: - I had to wait 30-60mins to get a Cybercab. - It would not pick me up at my location, instead it asked me to walk to a location 5-15 mins away from where I was. - the price was same as Uber premium tier without the promotion. (For reference, we tried to call an Uber and Cybercab for comparison, the Uber charged $9.55 with promo, and Cybercab had no promotion and charged us $17.80. Uber came in 2 minutes and Cybercab asked us to wait 30 mins on top of the additional 15 mins we had to walk to its designated pickup location. We gave up on the Cybercab eventually cause of the wait time and it was boiling outside) I do not know why any regular customer would use cybercab as anything but a gimmick as it is today in Austin. @elonmusk
No tipping No mysterious smells No awkward small talk No listening to shitty music Why would anyone take an Uber again?
