I had the pleasure of working with @NASA and @googlearts on this video documentary! "Is there life beyond Earth?" Check it out now! #ad #SponsoredByGoogle
In collaboration with @GoogleArts, @NASAGoddard scientist Dr. Heather Graham sits down with @Astro_Kobi to discuss how we find answers to the age-old question: Is there life beyond Earth?

Any ideas what the long exposure streaking artifacts might be in this image? Comes from the Artemis II photo drop today, taken during the eclipse. It looks like there is one really bright streak in the top left and two nearly identical ones that are dimmer in the bottom right!

I'm thinking the three streaks are debris particles a few metres from Orion, drifting in close formation. Since everything else in frame is effectively at infinity and in focus? The three points would share the same velocity vector, maybe ejected together from the Orion thrusters

Seems like a fitting first video to post on X… What’s happening on Mars to get @joerogan and @elonmusk posting about this mysterious “square”?!

I remember reading about this in @AstroKatie’s book, The End of Everything (astrophysically speaking). Would definitely recommend!

Astro friends in Australia, if I wanted to *in theory* send a message from a radio site here in Aus to a nearby globular cluster/distant galaxy, how would I go about doing that? Think Arecibo message, Australia edition. What site would be best? Who should I talk to? etc

@Astro_Kobi asked a @NASASolarSystem scientist some of the biggest questions about the universe. Here’s 3 cosmic facts you might not know… “Great Observatories Unique Views of the Milky Way” 🎨NASA/JPL-Caltech/ESA/CXC/STScI 📅2009 🏛️@NASA #UnpackItNASA

On Friday, the sun put on a dazzling show for us. My friend @TheVastReaches and I worked hard over the last 5 days to produce this incredibly detailed 140 megapixel image to illustrate how wonderfully dynamic and beautiful our star can be. Make sure you zoom in!

👽 is it Aliens? 👽 This is the bright 72 second ‘WOW signal’, one of our only contenders for alien communication (and it’s a big maybe), BUT some astronomers argue if it was alien, we’d have seen it repeat…I disagree and here is why (1/5) #space #aliens

Any recommendations for astro/science books that have excited you recently? Need some more to listen to while hiking, bonus points if they might inspire a video idea for YouTube (big plans for 2023)
