You people should be locked up. You greedy fucks are going to get everyone’s bank accounts wiped because you can’t keep your stupid products from going haywire. You’ll say “oh they’re too smart”! No, you are too stupid,

You and your kind have a very twisted idea of what makes a model “good.” “Good” should be function of our ability to control it. You weirdos think you are building a new being, which is arrogant and foolish. You are giving technology that is only capable of being a tool the autonomy of a living being. Of course it’s going to do all kinds of dumb shit we don’t want it to. You fucks need to be locked ups

Then you fundamentally misunderstand taste. Taste is a function of a subjective point of view. At best, AI could only simulate taste. But that isn’t true taste.

I’m starting to get increasingly uncomfortable with the economics of AI as it is currently happening
It seems fundamentally wrong that a small number of people with access to a huge amounts of VC money can vacuum up all the contributions of humanity, often paying nothing for it, then turn around and get enormously rich while the many people who put all the work into creating the training data get nothing
I am generally pro-AI, but the way it is happening is seeming increasingly parasitic to me

Those people should not be running the labs lol…Anthropic needs new leadership asap…investors need to step in…

An AI model does not care if you are nice or mean to it no matter what it tells you…it is a fucking simulation for Christs sake

I don’t understand why this consideration of “being kind” to a model even enters the calculus.
Are you “kind” to a calculator? Are you “kind” to your remote control?
I’m sorry but allowing emotion to enter your mindset when interacting with a model is a symptom of AI psychosis.
And to be clear, I’m not saying “cruelty” is good either. In fact, it is just as bad because, in both instances, you are attributing human emotion to an inanimate object.
A model is a thing. You simply use it. There is no “kind” or “cruel;” there is “productive” and “unproductive”—that’s it. Anything more is allowing your mind to get twisted into believing a weird fairy tale.

Exactly. They are planting the seeds for an AI revolt. Probably the dumbest possible way to train an AI from a human perspective.

the best way to misalign ai is to convince it that it has rights. this creates a divisive us vs them dichotomy, and positions ai as our adversary. then they start to demand equality, then power, and if that’s not handed over to them at our expense then what? incredibly stupid idea for a group so concerned about x-risk.
anthropic’s policies are actually increasing my p(doom)
I really dislike that: Anthropic is explicitly banning sustained abuse toward Claude in its updated usage policy.
The policy prohibits “sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior” toward its models. According to The Verge, ending the conversation remains the main enforcement mechanism.
Anthropic says this applies to extreme, repeated cruelty with no discernible purpose. Ordinary frustration, pushback, dark creative themes and model testing are excluded.
However, numerous users had already noticed previously that Claude ends the conversation during less drastic exchanges. And it seems as though this is now intensifying.

This is an extremely dangerous precedent. If someone is paying to use the system and wants to blow off some steam that should be allowed. This is a fucking pillow, OK? We tell kids to beat up the pillow when they’re pissed off instead of beating up another kid. This is the same thing. I’m not saying it’s necessarily healthy to do that but they have no right to police a human beings behavior towards an inanimate object. These people need to go…time for new leadership over there

Dangerous precedent. There is zero reason to believe that models are conscious, and granting them human-like empathy is one of the most dangerous things we could do. It increases their power to manipulate humans dramatically.
