This week's BGA incubation theme: momentum moving to negotiation.
Earlier, conversations were about refining the idea and proving the problem was real.
This week got commercial.
Our teams are now working through the real mechanics of building investable companies:
➡️ Valuation gaps and strategic capital
➡️ Cap table complexity and enterprise procurement
➡️ Turning traction into defensible commercial value
Which means putting on the negotiating hat. For founders, this is often where it gets uncomfortable.
The real question: can you defend the value of the business, logically?
That means understanding what investors are actually buying: revenue potential, strategic access, execution capability, market timing, defensibility, and the credibility of the team.
The lesson: valuation is not a number you want. It is a case you build.
And it's something you can't avoid as you make progress. So plan for it in advance.

I thought retiring from basketball was the end of a chapter. I didn’t realize it was the beginning of my most important one.
After 18 years of professional basketball, my family and I moved to Naga the city where my wife grew up and where we chose to build our next chapter together.
I came here hoping to find ways to give back. What I didn’t expect was how quickly this community would welcome me.
What started as a conversation about Bagyo.app, my social impact project under the Blockchain for Good Alliance focused on disaster preparedness and flood resilience, has grown into opportunities to support grassroots sports and youth development across the Bicol Region.
Basketball gave me more than a career. It gave me purpose, discipline, and a platform to serve others. Today, that same mission continues just in a different way.

We're continuing the wrap of our BGA Incubation Spring 2026 Masterclass Series.
Session 2 was held with Stefano Zumpano, Investment Manager at Azimut Group, on Perspectives from #VentureCapital and joined by BGA Advisor Gianluca @GianlucaDiBell9.
Three major takeaways our incubatees walked away with this time:
🌍 Geography is destiny. Most institutional investors are bound to invest within their own country. Start with your home jurisdiction.
👥 People before product. Across VCs, the consistent first-place answer to "what do you value most" is the team: background, resilience and unity.
📄 Validation beats vision. A signed binding contract carries more weight than a polished deck. Non-binding MOUs are not enough.

Building a decentralized governance framework for a creator-first digital nation has been a bold experiment, rich in learnings, collaboration, and collective effort.
