didn’t even take two years
For those who find this confusing, he's talking his book. That's his job, to live and breathe JPM 24/7/365. For the last decade, he has publicly dunked on crypto at every turn whilst privately still giving his high-level managers the flexibility to build out digital asset services and to make digital asset investments -- this is true at many major banks.
His tune will change completely when/if he thinks JPM is poised to take full advantage of digital assets and blockchain tech, particularly if Wall Street broadly can engineer any sort of regulatory capture over DeFi.
The guy at the top of an org that literally *is* the current financial system can't be a blockchain tech "system is broken we have to rebuild it" maxi until he's positioned his corp to be a major player under that paradigm, and decides it's a genuine existential threat to his legacy business units.
There *is* someone whose job it is 24/7/365 to be that blockchain tech maxi guy; his name is Brian Armstrong. That's why you see Coinbase running ads that literally say "the system is broken, we have to rebuild it, hooray Coinbase."

it’s awesome to see smart crypto natives appreciating our vision.
but a few of the biggest reasons i’m uberbullish on $KARATE are still underexplored 🧵👇
Where are the real world crypto projects?"
One of the least expected but highest conviction real world projects I've seen is $KARATE.
Here's my bull case for Karate Combat (KC):
Mind spinning how this grinder has grown this year 🫡
At the risk of sounding like a beg:
My goal in 2023 was to reach 100 thousand followers by 2024.
Well, with 4 days left of 2023 I’ve reached 93 thousand, wow.
I’m asking YOU if you can help me with one last push by simply sharing this post!
What you’ll get for following me:
- Daily smart money updates in new year
- Constantly tracking narratives
- Ecosystem reviews
- Constant educational content.
- Teaching you how to win this bull.
- Occasional sh*t posts.
- Pirate content.
- Love & affection.
I can guarantee you’ll become efficient in crypto if you just click that follow button.
I’ve seen it all before and have the wisdom to share it all with you!
Let’s make 2024 a year to remember!
There’s a common millennial / GenZ sadboi doomerism: “born too late to explore the Earth, born too early to explore the stars.”
What they’re missing is that they’re born into a time with global air travel widely affordable to the west, and they can already buy a pair of earbuds that will reliably translate in real time between them and any stranger.
More profound if you happen to think going multi-planetary will shrink down the human language base and push national cultures closer together to the point of being indistinguishable over the next millennium.
It’s the first time in history, and perhaps closing in on being the last time, that a random member of the western laptop class will able to fully explore earthbound human culture.
Born at just the right time to be a globetrotting armchair anthropologist.
Are you paying attention to @KarateCombat yet?

DAMN RIGHT IT IS!

Being able to have literally anything delivered to your door in 24 hours was a fever dream, now it’s a reality that employs 1.1M Americans.
Guy who did it is a SciFi nerd, now busy living the dream. How awful! Should’ve kept on as a socially productive quant trader instead 😂

And more importantly, I think both the fan culture around SF – and the academic article of faith that SF is a powerful anti-capitalist genre – prevents us from seeing the way that science fiction fantasies are the beating heart of today's turbo-charged Big Tech fever dreams. 🧵

This cycle, Web3 consumer apps and communities need to get really good at finding the line between brand building / marketing strategies that create healthy, upbeat FOMO -- and strategies that create negative, fear-based FOBTL (fear of being too late).
The market for attention is going to become increasingly saturated as marketing budgets find steam again, and your target customers / prospective community members are going to be faced with a myriad of options.
If your brand's marketing or community discourse give the impression that the ship has already sailed, or that the ground floor is full, you're going to lose prospective community members to brands that aren't gatekeeping.
Onboard, welcome, celebrate, revel. It's not the time for gatekeeping or "stay poor" laser eyeing. The vibe isn't "we came so far already we don't need you." The vibe IS "we've come a long way, but it's still early in the race and we want you to come with us the rest of the way."
This is something that top teams and founders (like those tagged below) understand implicitly, and the fruits of their efforts during the last 12 months of crab market apathy have already begun to show.

This isn't going to happen without a crackdown because unregulated, permissionless access to US securities and financial markets at large isn't something the country actually wants.
It's actually a terrible idea for a myriad of reasons I could probably write a thread about.
When will we have tokenized stock trading on-chain?
It would be amazing to trade $COIN shares on Uniswap.
Is this happening? And if so, when?
With KC43 coming up in Vegas in less than two weeks, now’s a great time to get familiar with @KarateCombat and Up Only Gaming.
The ground floor still has plenty of room.
If you are a Web3 native and you aren’t paying attention to @KarateCombat yet, I’m begging you to clue-in while it’s still early.
Unbelievable business and execution. Unbelievable crypto use case. Unbelievable team. Unbelievable tailwinds.
