We choose what we get in life. We may not always realize we have this power or assume that conscious choice, but that does not exclude it from being there. I'd rather put this out there and be completely wrong about it, fall flat on my face, fail and look like an idiot in the eyes of the peanut gallery... than not put it out there and never even try making the choice. That's what I've been doing up to this point in my life, dipping my toes here and there, and I'm done with it. All in.

The future of self-custody is not over. This hardening process we are undergoing is stomach-churning, but it is the reality of our future in this new world of AI. I understand the hesitation and reticence of being a vocal supporter of self-custody today, but we can't as a community let this be a reason to walk back the freedom that it affords us from government control of our money.

How long do you have to escape a stadium from flooding, that starts with a single drop of water in the middle of the field and doubles by volume every minute? Days, weeks? Try less than an hour: 50 minutes. But get this - at what time is the stadium still 97% empty and people don't realize it's about to be submerged? 5 minutes before it's completely flooded. 45 minutes into the experiment, no one even realizes, because its still DRY! As humans, we don't understand exponential growth intuitively. Linear growth, we understand easily. Yet, we are SURROUNDED by exponential growth. So, if you feel like life and change are speeding up, you're not imagining it - IT IS. Not embracing change is no longer a viable option. We are living in the age of exponential growth of technology.

I used to think a good day meant everything going exactly how I wanted it But now it's more "did I focus on what I can control?" Every day can be one with that mindset

I think (and hope) in the long run AI wipes out most human-computer interaction and ironically gets us off our screens and back to interacting with each other and the physical world death of email jobs and knowledge work is gonna be short-term rough though, maybe too rough

There is no greater loss than trading time for infinite money, no greater crime than inflation, no greater tragedy than ignorance of fiat money; the worst of tricks is working more yet getting less over time. Bitcoin savings alone is enough.

owning a bitcoin ETF misses the biggest benefit of owning bitcoin not that ETFs are evil; they exist for a reason and I'm glad they do but it's not bitcoin

One stolen key isn't enough to steal your Bitcoin, and one lost key doesn't lock you out. That's called multisig: Bitcoin lets you require more than one signature to spend.

It's much easier to be outraged at the world than at peace with it. But peace is far more fulfilling.

"If you just switch to an ETF then you don't have to worry about losing your BTC to ______." Absolutely false. There is objectively NO type of loss that can be solved by giving your bitcoin to a third party. Third party custody is exposed to every self custody risk PLUS MORE!
