We choose what we get in life.
We may not always realize we have this power or assume that conscious choice, but that does not exclude it from being there.
I'd rather put this out there and be completely wrong about it, fall flat on my face, fail and look like an idiot in the eyes of the peanut gallery... than not put it out there and never even try making the choice.
That's what I've been doing up to this point in my life, dipping my toes here and there, and I'm done with it.
All in.
I spend ZERO time on things that don't excite me.
This is where the list actually gets hard. I've spent a lot of time and energy on projects I just don't give two shits about. That ends in 2027.
The energy drain is 100x worse than any gain I get by participating.
Done.
I know that everything is working out in my favor, and all of the above will come to pass.
I know that everything is working out in my favor, and all of the above will come to pass.
I know that everything is working out in my favor, and all of the above will come to pass.
Say it with me. Program it. Be ruthless about it. We have the CHOICE. So USE IT.
The kingdom of Heaven is within you.

When you wake up, the worst thing you can do is check your phone
Instead spend the 1st hour of your day soaking in all the heavenly glory
Use that time to journal, manifest & visualize
Feel the power of who you are & the beautiful future coming your way
Use your pen to write the story of your life
In a village by the sea

Quite possibly the most important trait you can develop is not caring what people think
This is the advice that helped me:
Thinking vs feeling
Analyzing vs sensing
Intellectual vs intuitive
Knowledge vs wisdom
Learned vs absorbed
University vs experience
Reading about it vs doing
Deciding vs recognizing
Head vs gut
Logic vs intuition
Doing vs being
Force vs flow
Make it happen vs let it happen
Don’t get stuck on the left. Use both.

You shy away from the “bad” things in life as if the bad things are going to break you. Maybe you should let them. Maybe you need a wake up call. Maybe you need to change and this is the only way.
The pain the heartbreak the betrayal the loss. We’re scared of getting hurt we’re scared of acting the fool we’re scared of failing we’re scared of losing people we’re scared in general.
But here’s the thing about the “bad” things - they end up becoming the best things, if you let them. You become better because of it, if you choose to. You’ve got to hurt a little. Feel the pain. Let it break you. Let it change you.
Remember you’re not alone in your hurt in your suffering in your humanness.
You’re not alone.
But at a certain point you’ve got to choose. Do you want to be a victim of your life or an active participant in it? Every day you choose. And you can be magic, if you want to be. Use the bad and turn it to good. That is the fight.
Nearly three years ago, I said on a podcast that I thought business plans were counterproductive.
But I think what I was on to is actually bigger than that.
We have all been taught some version of this path:
Get good grades.
Go to college.
Get a good job.
Climb the ladder.
Make money.
Retire.
But I think you can feel that this is breaking apart in real time now.
But what's the alternative? Just find the "right" path that still works, and follow that?
Things are moving too fast to think like that anymore.
Five years ago, software devs were some of the highest paid talent on the market. Today, entry-level jobs in software have all but vanished.
Planning 5-20 years out is not going to work the same way it did for our parents. Whether you're planning for a career or a business.
That sounds scary. But it's actually good news (I promise). You don't need the whole road mapped out anymore.
Here's what I'm doing now:
Getting clear about where I want to be. Not a dollar amount, but more of a state of mind. I don't attach a timeline to it. I consider:
The feelings I'll have while I'm going about a typical day.
How I'll react to events in my life.
Who I'm surrounded by.
The activities I'll do.
Then instead of planning a whole road to that end state, I'm simply keeping that in mind now, when I'm:
1. making decisions.
2. reacting to events.
3. choosing paths that are presented to me.
Without a plan, but with a clear vision for where I want to end up, I trust my intuition's response to life. It acts like a compass. I can adjust my path on the fly as I move toward my end goal.
Because no plan will survive contact with reality for long nowadays.
What are you doing to adapt?
Is our lived, experienced consciousness just a cross-section of our full being, a 3rd dimensional representation of something far larger and more complex?

WELCOME TO NINEFOLD.
Culture moves markets. But it starts with people.
What they care about. What they trust. What they want to be part of.
In a world where almost anything can be generated, taste and judgment matter more:
what deserves to exist and how it earns a place in people’s lives.

"the guy who strikes out is still closer to hitting a home run than the heckler in the bleachers"
35 years into this game
when I look back, most of my work and decisions went nowhere
I owe my dream life to a handful of asymmetric bets:
- asking out the French exchange student in high school
- learning to code in 2009
- dropping out of uni to pursue my startup
- going all-in Bitcoin in March 2020
those four decisions shaped most of my life
I missed so many opportunities.
some that were served up on a silver platter.
but that's the beautiful thing about asymmetric bets - you only need one to completely change your trajectory
so how often are you actually looking for them?
not the default path.
not the safest options.
the ones with limited downside and massive upside
they're often hiding behind exaggerated downside
you think they're riskier than they are
you fear the judgement of pursuing them, or failing to succeed
nobody actually cares though
its your life. take swings.
the guy who strikes out is still closer to hitting a home run than the heckler in the bleachers
time speeds up after 35 years
it's made me more ruthless about where I allocate my time and capital.
forced me into a barbell strategy for life
I'm either squeezing the most I can out of this pre-ASI moment - real world maxxing somewhere beautiful with lovely people- or I'm allocating time/capital to the most asymmetric bets I can find.
zero mediocre middle
Hustle culture is keeping you poor.
Hard work is not what pays anymore. And it never was.
I spent about 20 years reading self-help books and doing all kinds of programs.
What I learned recently - through experience - threw most of it out the window.
Hustle culture tells you to sit at your computer and produce more.
More content.
More sales calls.
More products.
Just do more.
I want you to lift your head up for a minute.
AI can now take your knowledge and act on it faster than you or I ever could. Most of what gives high value to the knowledge work you get paid for is being swallowed by LLMs, and there is no stopping this or regulating it away (and it's GREAT for you, I promise).
The scarce skill now is making clear, effective decisions at a rapid pace.
CEOs already know this. They aren't paid for hours, they're paid for great decision-making ability.
Great decisions require high energy and clarity. If you're burnt out, low energy, or internally conflicted you will struggle to make decisions at all, let alone make them well and quickly.
So hustle culture isn't rescuing you from the permanent underclass. It's your ticket to it, because it's robbing you of exactly what you need to win in this new era: your energy and clarity.
When you grow your energy and save it for the decisions that matter, you decide better and faster. Your progress compounds.
This has happened in my own life, faster than I thought possible.
So I stopped measuring my productivity in hours. Instead I focus only on protecting my energy so I make better decisions.
For me that means spending hours every morning waking up, hitting the gym and sitting in the sauna. It means going on random errands that I could pay some delivery driver to do for me, just because I love driving my car.
My productivity and the results in my life have gone exponential since I've started making this shift.
So what is it for you that increases your energy and grows your capacity and clarity?
Start doing more of that.
I want you to love your life so you can build cool things that humanity can enjoy with you. Go and get it!
