This is not AI. Carla Lockhart, DUP MP, “proudly” holding a painting depicting the Orange Order parade being forced down the Garvaghy Road in 1998, a deeply traumatic period for residents that was marked by serious violence, injuries and lasting community hurt.
The fact that an elected representative would celebrate imagery associated with such pain, without any apparent consideration for the people who lived through it, speaks volumes.
The North is complicated enough without politicians glorifying one tradition while disregarding the suffering of another community.
You cannot claim to represent everyone while showing so little regard for the trauma of your neighbours. Leadership requires respect, not triumphalism.

Anyone else notice the anti Irish / Xenophobic campaign being run by certain English media outlets recently. Not the first time mind you but it’s definitely been ramped up since the Ireland v Israel match. The Daily Mail has always been notorious for it but few others now too..

Imagine how many hate crime stats are overly inflated by selfish scumbags wanting to scam the rest of us.

I didn't think FFG could have a worse platform than "let's celebrate the Black and Tans" but at the moment their two key policy planks are "we're giving all your water and power to the data centres" and "we're going to war for Israel"
