It was a great honour to receive the eminent, highly cerebral, and deeply cultured scholar, Shaykh Sulaiman Amubieya, in my office a few weeks ago. We remain grateful for the honour of his visit and the opportunity to learn once again from his immense wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and exemplary humility. Indeed, true greatness is reflected not only in the depth of one's knowledge but also in the humility with which it is carried. May Allah bless, preserve, and continue to elevate him upon goodness, grant him sound health and longevity, and make his knowledge a lasting source of benefit to humanity. Āmīn.

"My name is Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, and I am so proud and honored to stand here as your Senator-elect from the great state of Michigan. Up until right about now, you might have noticed I always say 'Inshallah' or 'God willing' whenever the outcome of this race was mentioned. But today, tonight, we can turn that 'Inshallah' into a 'Alhamdulillah!'"

Pages of the Glorious Qur’ān today Wednesday 4/11/26, Sūrah aṣ-Ṣāffāt (37): 127-182, tafakkur verse 37: 139-144 Theme: The Trials of Prophet Yūnus, Repentance and the Power of Dhikr (144) "Indeed, Prophet Yūnus was certainly one of the Messengers. When he fled to the fully laden ship, he cast lots with the others and was among those who lost. Then the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy. Had he not been among those who glorified Allah, he would certainly have remained in its belly until the Day when they are resurrected." LESSONS: 1. Being a Messenger of Allah does not exempt one from trials and moments of difficulty. Prophet Yūnus was among the noble Messengers, yet he experienced an extraordinary trial. His experience reminds us that righteousness does not mean a life without challenges. Sometimes, the people closest to Allah experience the most difficult tests. 2. We must exercise patience and wisdom when faced with difficult situations. Prophet Yūnus left his people before receiving Allah's permission to do so. His experience teaches us the importance of patience, perseverance and seeking divine guidance rather than allowing frustration to dictate our decisions. 3. No situation is beyond the power of Allah. Being swallowed by a great fish in the depths of the sea, surrounded by darkness, was an apparently hopeless situation. Yet, Allah preserved Prophet Yūnus. What appears impossible to human beings is never beyond Allah's power. 4. Consistent remembrance of Allah is a source of deliverance during difficult moments. Allah specifically identifies Prophet Yūnus as one of those who glorified Him. His established devotion and remembrance of Allah became significant in his moment of distress. This teaches us to cultivate a relationship with Allah during times of ease so that we may turn to Him sincerely during times of hardship. 5. Never despair of Allah's mercy, regardless of how difficult your circumstances may be. If Allah could rescue Prophet Yūnus from the belly of a fish in the depths of the sea, He can certainly deliver anyone from whatever difficulty they face. No darkness is too deep, no crisis too overwhelming and no situation too complicated for Allah's intervention. O Allah, make us among those who remember You constantly, glorify You sincerely and remain steadfast in obedience to You. Grant us patience in times of difficulty, wisdom in moments of frustration and the ability to recognise our mistakes and return to You in sincere repentance. O Allah, just as You rescued Prophet Yūnus from the darkness of the belly of the fish, rescue us from the darkness of our difficulties, anxieties, trials and afflictions. Never leave us to ourselves, even for the blink of an eye. Āmīn.

Pages of the Glorious Qur’ān today Tuesday 3/11/26, Sūrah aṣ-Ṣāffāt (37): 77-126, tafakkur verse 37: 123-126 Theme: Worship Allah Alone, the Best of Creators (126) "Indeed, Ilyās (Elijah) was certainly among the messengers. When he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? Do you call upon Baʿl (an idol) and abandon the Best of Creators - Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” LESSONS: 1. The foundation of every prophetic mission is Tawḥīd. All the prophets, despite differences in their historical circumstances and communities, called people to worship Allah alone and reject every form of associating partners with Him. The message of Prophet Ilyās (AS) was no exception. 2. Fear of Allah must guide our religious convictions and actions. Prophet Ilyās began his admonition by asking his people whether they would not develop Taqwā. True consciousness of Allah should influence what we worship, what we believe, how we behave and the choices we make in life. 3. Human beings must not abandon their Creator for created things. The people of Prophet Ilyās worshipped Baʿl, an idol, while abandoning Allah, the Best of Creators. This teaches us the irrationality of directing acts of worship, ultimate devotion and divine dependence towards anything or anyone besides Allah. 4. Tradition and ancestral practices are not automatically legitimate. Prophet Ilyās reminded his people that Allah was their Lord and the Lord of their earliest forefathers. Religious truth is not determined by how long a practice has existed or how many generations have observed it. Every inherited belief and practice must be examined against divine guidance. 5. The Creator deserves exclusive worship, gratitude and obedience. Allah is not merely the Creator of one generation or one community; He is the Lord of all humanity and all creation. It is therefore a grave contradiction to acknowledge Allah as Creator while directing acts of worship to other beings or objects. O Allah, the Lord of all creation, grant us sound understanding of Tawḥīd, purify our hearts from every form of Shirk, protect us from blind imitation and misguided traditions, and make us among those who worship You sincerely, obey You faithfully and remain steadfast upon Your guidance until our final moments. Āmīn.

Pages of the Glorious Qur’ān today Monday 2/11/26, Sūrah aṣ-Ṣāffāt (37): 25-76, tafakkur verse 37: 33-35 Theme: The consequence of arrogance and rejecting the Oneness of Allah is punishment in Jahannam (35) "So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. Indeed they, when it was said to them, There is no deity but Allāh, were arrogant". LESSONS: 1. Rejecting the truth does not make it disappear. Those who deliberately turn away from Allah's guidance will eventually face the consequences of their choices in the hereafter. The only duty expected of the believers is to preach and remind others of the promises of Allah. Every individual is free to make their own choices and individually, they bear the consequences of their choices. 2. One of the greatest obstacles to guidance is arrogance. When the heart is besieged by arrogance, every truth is rejected and the whims take over. The eyes are unable to see the truth, the ears are shut at it and the heart rejects it. When people become arrogant against the truth, even when it is clearly presented to them, they are clearly under the grip of Shaytan. We must pray for their guidance while admonishing them very gently. 3. The declaration Lā ilāha illa Allāh is not merely a statement to be uttered with the tongue; it is a fundamental declaration of faith that demands sincere belief, submission and exclusive devotion to Allah. In the end, it is one factor that separates the people of Jahannam from the people of Jannah. 4. The verses remind us that the Day of Judgement is not a mere religious imagination. Those who persist in criminality and rebellion against Allah by rejecting tawḥīd and committing evil against other people will certainly face the consequences of their deeds. 5. A believer must remain humble enough to accept the truth, regardless of who presents it. Our social status, wealth, education, religious position or influence must never make us feel too important to submit to Allah's guidance. O Allah, protect our hearts from arrogance, pride and the rejection of truth. Grant us the humility to recognise the truth and the courage to follow it. Make us sincere in our declaration of Your Oneness, steadfast in our faith and obedient to Your commands. Do not allow our worldly achievements, positions or desires to become obstacles between us and Your guidance. Grant us a beautiful ending and save us from the punishment of the Hereafter. Āmīn. 🤲
