An experience beyond the game. 🙌

Why do we Biharis find it so difficult to respect our own people?
Bihar Museum was conceived by Nitish Kumar, built with Bihar’s money and inaugurated by him in 2015. Yet today, when it is ranked No. 1 in Asia, the BJP president finds room to praise Narendra Modi but not even mention Nitish Kumar.
The irony is painful. When this museum was being built, BJP leader Sushil Modi questioned the project. Jitan Ram Manjhi questioned why Bihar needed to spend so much on it. Today, everyone wants to celebrate its success.
But this is about something much deeper than political credit.
What is wrong with us Biharis?
In 2014, we reduced Nitish Kumar’s party to just two Lok Sabha seats. We can disagree with his politics, criticise his failures and question his decisions. But can we not recognise what he got right?
I have lived outside India for years, travelled across more than 60 countries and visited hundreds of museums. Bihar Museum is genuinely world-class. It is proof that Bihar can build institutions that stand alongside the best.
Yet we seem more comfortable celebrating a leader from outside Bihar than acknowledging one of our own.
And this goes beyond politics. We doubt our own entrepreneurs, question our own talent and dismiss our own achievements. We often need someone from outside to tell us that something made in Bihar is worth respecting.
A state that refuses to recognise its own achievements will always struggle to believe in its own future.
Bihar does not lack talent, vision or leadership. Perhaps what we lack most is faith in ourselves.
Give Nitish Kumar the credit he deserves. Not because you support his politics, but because history deserves the truth.
The Bihar Museum has been ranked No. 1 in Asia and among the world’s best!
This is a proud moment for Bharat, bringing its glorious civilisational legacy into the global spotlight. True to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of ‘Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi’, Bihar is embracing modern development while rekindling pride in its rich heritage and cultural identity.

India is having a shocker of an Asian Games.
Shooters have severely underperformed and there are big question marks over the trials process. Many failed to make the finals even at an Asian level.
Last minute team changes in the rowing competition where athletes were threatened that their "future would be ruined" if they didn't comply. They've been called "anti national" for questioning the decisions.
Varun Sanyal didn't have coaches or support staff with him (was alone for his weight cut and deemed medically unfit after fainting in the sauna). But 250 'officials' are part of the contingent. Sports people or babus on Japan vacation with families?
Many athletes are on record that they found out just 2-3 weeks prior that they would be participating in the Asian Games. They simply didn't have enough time to prepare for the competition to their best ability. How can athletes win medals when they haven't prepared as well as their competition?
India is going to fall massively short of its 2022 tally of 106 with 28 gold medals.
Japan has messed up the organization of the Games, and that has hogged all the attention. But don't take your eyes away from the disaster that the Indian Olympic Association has inflicted on the atheletes and India's chances of a strong performance.

THIS WAS WAITING TO HAPPEN.
A WHIFF OF ANDERSEN, QUATTROCCHI AND ITALIAN MARINES.
American alleged mercenary MATTHEW VANDYKE granted bail by special NIA court.
NIA had filed case only under Passport Act. It is yet to file charges under UAPA. VanDyke and his module was arrested for training Insurgent groups in Myanmar by crossing over from India's Mizoram. VanDyke was allegedly aiding particularly militant Chin ethnic groups in Myanmar with ties to insurgents in India's North East. There was U.S pressure building seeking his release. NIA insists BAIL isn't a let off. That it has not dropped UAPA charges.

The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all.
A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue.
A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310.
These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it.
The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored.
A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone.

I worked in Sri Lanka (Colombo) for nearly two years, consulting for MTN (Dialog Telekom), during the peak of the LTTE war (2007–2009).
Believe me, it rains there like cats and dogs for months - May to September, and again November to January.
Yet, even when the country was dealing with an almost civil-war-like situation, I never saw roads crumble because of rains the way ours do every monsoon. So frustrating!
This is how Colombo looks these days.

The Jurassic Park film really dropped the ball regarding the core problem being raised by the book:
The biggest threat isn't the problem you're focusing on. It's the thing you never considered a possibility in the first place.
In the movie, you find out the dinosaurs are breeding on their own for a single scene and then it never becomes a plot point again. The only raptors they have to deal with are the three that escaped from the paddock when the electricity went out.
In the book, there are supposed to be 8 raptors. The system is designed to throw an alert if there are ever fewer than expected.
Nobody thought to add an alarm or interface for if there were more than expected, and by the time they figure it out there are over three dozen of the damn things running loose.
Think about how this can apply elsewhere. Not just industrial applications, but philosophically, economically, politically, or socially:
What looming catastrophe are you ignoring because you are so focused on its opposite?
What dangers and evils are you allowing to grow unchecked because you never considered them as a possibility?

Did a little more research on this singularly ill timed decision by the AIFF to change the name to Football Federation of Bharat and mandate a 4 minute song(which FIFA will never allow for internationals) before each AIFF match.
And it turned out that neither of these items were actually on the agenda before the meeting, and came as a surprise to most in the meeting. And these items were never put on vote or passed.
But according to the AIFF's own press release the same day, it seemed to be a done deal.
"It was further resolved that a proposal be submitted to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) for renaming the All India Football Federation (AIFF) as the Football Federation of Bharat (FFB).
It was also decided that the National Anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' and the National Song 'Vande Mataram' shall be played before the commencement of all football matches conducted under the aegis of AIFF."
The fact is that the AIFF elections are in a few months, and this is an excellent way to make sure that this election will be fought on name changes and national songs, when what it should really be decided on is how well or badly the current lot is running the sport and whether they should or should be replaced.
It is also a terrible disservice to many sincere AIFF state representatives who would have been just as surprised by this sudden development, and who would needlessly be the object of ire and ridicule among their own constituents.
There is a way of changing all of this. But it starts with at the state level with each sport and a collective will to end this nonsense and lack of accountability.
I plan to give it a proper shot

This is what ostracism looks like.
1st the city government will not develop any parks and recreation and destroy the existing ones in the name of development or monetisation
2nd it introduces taxes to housing societies having amenities that the city failed to provide.
The day it becomes easy for middle class to get residency visas abroad, they will leave India & migrate in huge numbers.
Residents and housing societies in Pimpri-Chinchwad have raised concerns over PCMC's decision to levy property tax on common amenity spaces such as parking areas, gardens, clubhouses, gyms and open spaces. The civic body says the move aims to bring previously unregistered properties into the tax system, but societies argue that these shared facilities are essential services and should not attract additional charges. The new tax is expected to increase maintenance costs for many residents.

Chinese figured out something Indians haven't: first build fighters with whatever unreliable engines, manufacture engines and its components at a larger scale, and keep replacing the engines/components as needed, incorporate improvements along the lifecycle. Indians sought a turnkey reliable engine and set themselves unreal standards, only to end up with an unreliable supplier for a reliable engine.
Unreliable engines from reliable suppliers beat reliable engines from unreliable suppliers.
Over 300 Chinese J-20 stealth fighters have been built at roughly $110 million each. Not one carries a turbine blade that matches the service life of its Western equivalent. The WS-15 reached serial production on the J-20A in December 2025. Its high-pressure turbine runs on a third-generation Chinese single-crystal superalloy, rated about 30 degrees Celsius hotter than the second generation. The chemistry works. Casting yield at production scale does not. Chinese foundries scrap two of every three blades they cast. Western foundries scrap one in twenty. Chinese military engines improved from a few hundred hours between overhauls to roughly 1,500 with better blades. Western equivalents run roughly twice as long between overhauls and several times longer in total service life. Western foundries target sulfur below 1 part per million. Best practice runs below 0.3. At that purity, the coating survives thousands of hours in gas streams hotter than the alloy's melting point. A few extra parts per million and the coating peels, the blade oxidizes, and the engine fails prematurely.
