253 seats and counting! Democrats now have their strongest House majority since Obama’s 2008 election. Voters chose hope over fear, compassion over cruelty, and leaders who care about the people they serve. A historic victory, and we’re just getting started! 🇺🇸💙

Fionnán Sheahan: Simon Harris is looking around for someone to blame – give him a mirror @fionnansheahan
Harris’s party is going through an identity crisis while it is being led by a politician who doesn’t seem to stand for a whole lot – bar whatever topic is popular with the public at that particular point in time. Cheap soundbites have replaced substantial policy as Fine Gael’s stock and trade.
Harris’s schtick has become all too familiar. When the Tánaiste pledges to take action, it’s impossible to forget his promise that “no child waits in this country longer for a scoliosis procedure than four months”. The tragic case of the late Harvey Morrison Sherratt became the embodiment of that reckless commitment.
As he flails around for something to distract from the focus on his leadership style, Harris has latched on to value for money.
Without an ounce of self-awareness, after a decade at the cabinet table in a variety of roles, Harris is calling for tighter scrutiny of public funding for NGOs.
The politician who signed off on the contract for the National Children’s Hospital – although he haughtily denied it during a general election TV debate – is in no position to be lecturing anyone about value for money. And there are 2.24 billion reasons why he should think before he opens his mouth. The biggest budget overrun in the history of the State began on his watch, as he claimed credit for the investment.

Pope Leo XIV at Angelus thanks all the people that prayed for him in these days that he was operated on and was hospitalised for:
“I desire to thank all those who, in these days, have prayed for me. I truly felt your support. Thank you.
In particular I would like to express my gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff at the Gemelli Hospital.
This experience has made me feel particular closeness to all those who suffer from illness or infirmity.
Overcoming this delicate phase, I will be gradually taking up my activities again, always with help of God and with your prayers.
Thank you again. Thank you and a good Sunday to you all.”

Incredibly sad that the memory of D/Garda Colm Horkan, murdered on duty 6 years ago is now associated with this controversy…it must be very difficult for his family who deserve answers …May we always remember those brave Gardai gone before us & who died in service to this State
The family of Detective Colm Horkan who was shot dead in the line of duty in Castlerea, Co Roscommon six years ago have called for a public inquiry

Thank you @philipnolan1 for writing about St John Ambulance Ireland in the @irishdailymail
27 years after I first went to the gardaí, survivors have been told our abuser is medically unfit to face trial. Philip asked the right question: why was justice denied?
We need the public's support. Please stand with survivors in calling for an independent public inquiry.

Semi-states providing public services shouldn't be run like commercial companies.

Worth acknowledging that it is @TomClonan, Senator and former Irish Army Captain, pointing out the misinformation that is being pushed by the government on the Triple Lock.
Where are the critical voices in our media? This should be common knowledge.
To be clear, the govnt is waging this misinformation campaign.
'A number of glaring myths & untruths are repeatedly peddled in a public narrative that is designed to manufacture consent among the Irish people for ending our de-facto neutral status.'

May come as a shock to many, but not only is the Pope Catholic, he also knows more about moral theology than you and is in fact correct about the death penalty.

Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.

GARVAGHY ROAD FINAL UPDATE:
Ok folks - That's a wrap... 🇮🇪
It has been an honour to spread the message about this fight for justice. To report all the things that the Mainstream Media would never cover... I will still give some updates about the Court Cases on Monday, but I do not expect anything to change.
One thing is certain - An Orange Parade will never, ever, go down the Garvaghy Road again... ✊
Thanks to all of the people who messaged me in the past 2 weeks from far & wide around the Globe to tell me about their protests & demos. Hopefully we can stay in touch in the times ahead...
Thanks to every single Political Party, every activist group and every single ordinary person around the World who supported this fight for justice. You know who you are...🇮🇪
This campaign proved how important it is for different groups to stand together in a common cause. We can really acheive a new, better Ireland if we just stick together. We have more in common than divides us... 🇮🇪
On just a purely very personal level, I want to thank Michelle O'Neill and Mary Lou and all of the Sinn Fein activists who stood on the front line on Garvaghy Road on that very first night... 🇮🇪
Without your presence and influence, I am not sure that this battle could (or would) have been won...
You have restored my faith again in the politics of protest and resistance . You stood alongside the people & you never left...✊
Keep it that way...
And finally, Garvaghy Road... Music, banter, generosity, determination, bravery and an unbreakable spirit...
This fight was really about human rights. And the right humans won...
Slán go fóill ✊🇮🇪
H.J.
