How are we even calling this BRT? Mixed traffic isnt RAPID at all. This is unacceptable. We need our council members to sound the alarm β at Cincinnati, OH

GoBus in Ohio is an incredible asset and its continued expansion is connecting cities and people that arenβt even on the proposed maps for rail. If youβre not familiar with the big green buses from the state of Ohio you should check them out. And hereβs some reality:

We are so proud that @cincinnatimetro continues to implement the plan and vision that @BetterBusCo and bus riders sat out for our bus system years ago. Issue 7 wouldn't of been possible without bus riders and we are glad to see our work continue on. In fact some of our prev members worked on this project. #RideTheBus

A city's public transportation is a snapshot of its success. When the doctor, janitor, student, and CEO all ride the same bus, you know it's a city for everyone. β at Baltimore, MD

I will never stop fighting for bus riders. Thank you to the Cincinnati @Enquirer for publishing this very important op-ed. There is no need to wait for BRT to done before we get more bus lanes. @BetterBusCo has a plan for 15 bus lanes on non-BRT corridors. No need to wait!

We will continue to push this very important issue of bus only lanes. I dont believe we need to wait until BRT to do this lane. My team and I have a list of bus only lanes and many of them arent on the BRT lines
Advocates for bus riders and the streetcar want the city and Metro to implement a transit-only lane along Walnut Street downtown.
They say it will speed up service for riders and start preparing the city for Metro's bus-rapid transit later this decade.

Bus-only lanes provide several key benefits:
1. Faster Travel: Dedicated lanes allow buses to bypass traffic congestion, leading to quicker and more reliable journeys.
2. Increased Ridership: More efficient bus service encourages people to use public transport instead of private vehicles, reducing road congestion.
3. Improved Safety: Separation from general traffic decreases the likelihood of accidents involving buses, enhancing safety for passengers and other road users.
4. Environmental Benefits: Faster bus service leads to lower emissions and reduced fuel consumption, contributing to better air quality.
5. Cost-Effective: By maximizing the efficiency of bus systems, bus-only lanes can reduce the need for expensive road expansions or new infrastructure.

The dedicated bus lanes in Baltimore have shown all of these benefits. I was talking to a veteran @mtamaryland bus operator this morning who said that the red lanes were the best thing we've done for bus service.

Change on the inside leads to change on the outside. Cincinnati Metro went from having one of the most strict child fare rules to one of the best.
Some folks just want to be social media influencers. I will never stop pushing change/policy that benefits bus riders
