战略轰炸机飞行员在执行核打击演练时，有一条保命规矩：在投下炸弹掉头逃离的那几十秒内，除了要把整个座舱的所有窗户用金属防辐射遮光帘死死封住之外，飞行员脸上还得戴上一副长相怪异的厚框眼镜。 因为核弹在空中引爆的那一毫秒，释放出的强光比正午的太阳还要亮上千倍，哪怕隔着几十公里远看一眼，视网膜也会当场被强光烧伤致盲，连手都摸不到仪表盘。 但戴普通墨镜的话，平时黑乎乎的根本看不清座舱仪表。于是军工专家研发出了一种“电控防核闪光变色护目镜（PLZT Goggles）”： 镜片是由掺镧锆钛酸铅压电陶瓷做的，平时通着微弱电流保持透明；一旦头盔上的光电传感器捕捉到窗外有核爆级别的强光亮起，电路会在 100 微秒（万分之一秒，比光的传播慢不了多少） 内瞬间切断电压，透明镜片在人眼眨眼反应过来的一千倍速度前，直接变成完全不透光的纯黑色墨镜，等强光过去再自动变回透明。

Nvidia intentionally crippled their $1,000 graphics cards so average consumers couldn’t use its full computing power. Why? Because they sell the exact same chip to big tech companies for $7,000+. Modders have now cracked Nvidia's software paywall, proving we were sold intentionally downgraded hardware just to protect their corporate profits. This is some bullshit. Also means people bought bigger more expensive cards than they needed to.

I'm in favor of rendering O'Neill colonies. But I'm often surprised at just how overpopulated the interiors often are. To be self-sufficient, you'd need far more land area devoted to "nature" than to "city." The oxygen would get quickly used up, never mind the people going buggo.
