Great horned owls doing their thing stealing nests 😅
(That’s why @BethpageGolf @Greensideup17 and his team put up human-made nests for these bandits so they leave the red-tails alone. Only minimum child labor needed)
So happy to get a shot of this Cooper’s Hawk juvenile in flight! Then to find where it landed for the still shot and ID…. @NativeBirdBoxes @BirdsofTurf #native #bird #boxes #hawk #hawks #golf #golfcourse #wildlife #nature #swfl #florida
Thank you to all the superintendents out there balancing so many things at once. We are grateful you include supporting wildlife in that balancing act, especially the birds of turf, and love sharing your photos and stories!

And there were black skimmers in the last photos! They've got really cool unique bills perfectly suites for skimming along the surface
Alright! Seems like you all know your ducks so we're stepping up the challenge with a female! Hunters might get this one often described as an "elegant" duck. Breeds in northern US/Canada/Greenland and winters in southern US/Mexico/Caribbean
Let's guess another duck! Male on left, female on right. This one winters in northern Mexico/much of US and breeds mostly up in Canada/Alaska. Fun fact: they almost exclusively build nests in old woodpecker holes (mostly made by northern flickers). Who knows it?
