Congratulations to you sir @Thomas_Tayebwa and your counterpart for making it to the finish line of the gorilla trekking experience!
Leadership is about leading by example. Your experience is a great call to all Ugandans to explore, appreciate and support our incredible mountain gorillas and tourism heritage. Visit Uganda, experience the magic, and help conserve it for generations. @wekesa_amos @Fireliglntfi @TourismBoardUg @ugwildlife @ntvuganda
This morning, I joined H.E. @tomio_cz, Speaker of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, for gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It's always exciting to enjoy the Pearl of Africa.
I have been gorilla tracking several times, but the experience always feels new and exciting. Gorillas are our cousins, and we learn a lot from them. Every day, they remind us of the importance of protecting nature because they are endangered. If we don't protect them, they may one day become extinct.
To celebrate Rt. Hon. Tomio's visit to Uganda, he named a baby gorilla "Tomio," the English equivalent of his name, Thomas, which is my name as well.
His visit marks the strengthening of a good relationship between our two countries. It is also a vote of confidence in our country as a secure and safe place to visit despite some countries delaying to remove Ebola travel restrictions. We will work together to promote ties, particularly in tourism. H.E. Tomio Okamura has assured us that he will be our ambassador back home.
I thank our Ambassador to Germany, Amb. Stephen Mubiru, who coordinated this visit.
I would like to urge Ugandans to explore our country. Before going abroad, first explore your own country. I promise, you won't find a better experience.
One of the most extraordinary night game drives we’ve ever experienced.
We witnessed lions bring down an elephant in Murchison Falls National Park a remarkably rare event. In Uganda, lions are more commonly seen hunting smaller prey, making this an unforgettable moment in the wild and a powerful reminder of nature’s unpredictability.@BBC_Travel @lonelyplanet @TravelLeisure @wekesa_amos @ugwildlife @TourismBoardUg

Good news from Rushaga, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park!
The Bikyingi gorilla family has grown from 10 to 11 members, including 2 infants, after female Munyirio gave birth to a new baby.
A wonderful milestone for mountain gorilla conservation.
