Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade was scheduled to switch on 21st October. The goal: cut transaction finality from about 12.8 seconds to around 150 milliseconds, according to the Solana Foundation. Finality is the point where a transaction can no longer be reversed. Faster finality speeds up settlement, but it does not set prices. The full breakdown on the Bitval blog ↓
