I voted for the first time! Democrat, of course. I'm supporting Troy Jackson for U.S. Senate in Maine because he opposes bans that would keep girls like me out of girls' sports. I've finally started winning since switching to girls' wrestling. Of course, some of the other girls are jealous. People will always be jealous of a winner. But have they tried practicing as hard as I do? His opponent, Susan Collins, thinks I should go back to competing against boys. How is that fair? 💙🗳️

Every government is saying the exact same thing right now: "There is no immediate threat. Just a drill. Don't panic." Okay, then why did 18 governments just tell their citizens to stockpile emergency supplies at the exact same time? Telling people to prepare for 72 hours: 🇪🇺 EU 🇯🇵 Japan 🇬🇧 UK 🇫🇷 France 🇳🇱 Netherlands 🇧🇪 Belgium 🇵🇱 Poland 🇫🇮 Finland 🇩🇰 Denmark 🇱🇻 Latvia 🇱🇹 Lithuania 🇮🇪 Ireland Telling people to prepare for 7 to 10 days: 🇸🇪 Sweden 🇳🇴 Norway 🇨🇭 Switzerland 🇪🇪 Estonia 🇹🇼 Taiwan 🇩🇪 Germany And here is the crazy part. They tell regular people to pack 3 days of food and water. Meanwhile the Pentagon just quietly ordered US military bases to prepare for 90 days completely on their own. No outside power, no water, no supply chains. Why tell the public 3 days while the military preps for 3 months? Are you ready for hour 73?

Please pray.
Hellish day. Everything that could go wrong did, all opportunity for mitigation of the hellishness was missed. Exhausted, in the hospital again, more surgery in the morning, and just...overwhelmed by the shittiness of it all. I hate to ask, but I'd so appreciate a prayer. Thanks.

After forty years in front of the camera, I’ll be directing my first feature film, SO HELP ME GOD: a Civil War epic about a Union soldier named Albert Townsend, who should have received the Medal of Honor but didn’t. Clerical error. I learned of Albert through his descendants’ archival research. What I found was more than an injustice waiting to be corrected. It was a story of friendship and extraordinary courage: an unassuming young man becoming a soldier who held his ground, and his principles, under fire. That’s a story worth telling on the largest possible scale. And we’re inviting the people who want to see it told to help bring it to the screen, as investors in the film through Republic. We intend to do it justice: real cannons, one hundred horses, and the cast in period-accurate uniforms. We’ve brought on Mark Huffam, whose work includes Saving Private Ryan, Game of Thrones, and The Martian, to produce it. He knows what it takes to make an epic, and how much depends on the human story at its heart. At the Medal of Honor Heritage Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, I introduced the project alongside Civil War historian Brad Quinlin, members of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and representatives of Civil War Roundtables. We’re also supporting the campaign for Albert’s posthumous Medal of Honor. His descendants are still fighting to see his courage properly recognized. This picture is about friendship, love, and honor — and common people rising to accomplish extraordinary things. I want to give that story everything it deserves. I hope you will lift the banner with us. Learn more about the film and the opportunity to invest: sohelpmegod.film

An Open Concern About Appearances: The Catholic Church and the Midterms I am Catholic. I say the rosary. I go to Mass. Nothing in what follows is an accusation against the Church, the Pope, or any bishop. It is a concern about how things look from the outside, and how that appearance is landing with millions of Americans right now. This administration created a Justice Department task force on anti-Christian bias, pardoned twenty-three pro-life prisoners, stood up a White House Faith Office and a Religious Liberty Commission, designated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern over the killing of Christians, and cut off federal funding to Planned Parenthood. For a Catholic writer, that record is not nothing. It is, on its face, one of the most tangible pro-life and pro-faith agendas in modern presidential history. In January 2025, the same administration suspended the refugee and migrant service contracts that had funded the USCCB and Catholic Charities for decades. Over one hundred million dollars a year. More than ninety-five percent of some program budgets. By spring, staff were laid off. By summer, agencies were closing programs. The money did not come back. Institutions that lose their largest funding stream tend to find their moral vocabulary sharpening in the same direction as their budgets. I am not saying that is what happened. I am saying that is what it looks like, and that appearance is not going unnoticed. Fourteen months later, in April 2026, the public statements from the Vatican and from American bishops toward this administration grew noticeably louder and more pointed than anything seen during the first term. Catholics see it. Non-Catholics see it. And when a bishop speaks out days before a national election against one party’s immigration positions—which are prudential disagreements open to debate—while remaining silent on the other’s platform positions that contradict settled Church teaching on life, on the body, on marriage, the imbalance is impossible to miss. I am not suggesting the Church holds a grudge, or that its silence on one side was bought. I am saying that is the appearance, and appearances are what most Americans, Catholic and not, actually see. When the institution that spent a year without its largest funding stream then directs its public voice at one party near an election—the very party that delivered more concrete protections for Christian life and religious liberty than perhaps any administration in living memory—the appearance is not of a shepherd. It is of a stakeholder. That is the embarrassment I cannot unsee. -- Joseph Fosco October 27, 2026

HAITIAN NATIONAL CHARGED WITH MURDERING WALMART MANAGER ALLEGEDLY ENTERED U.S. THROUGH BIDEN-ERA MIGRANT PAROLE PROGRAM MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A 23-year-old Haitian national charged with fatally shooting a Walmart manager is now the subject of new reporting concerning his immigration history and an alleged sham marriage involving the victim. According to Fox News, citing multiple Department of Homeland Security sources, Destino Jean-Louis entered the United States on November 24, 2023, through Fort Lauderdale International Airport under the Biden administration’s CHNV humanitarian parole program. The sources claim Jean-Louis lost his legal immigration status on June 12, 2025, following the Trump administration’s termination of the program. Jean-Louis is accused of fatally shooting Latosha Cooper, a Walmart manager and former coworker, outside her workplace on Wednesday. Investigators reportedly believe Jean-Louis and Cooper had previously entered into a sham marriage intended to help him obtain permanent residency. According to the report, federal immigration authorities denied the application in July. Cooper subsequently withdrew her petition and cut off contact with Jean-Louis. Investigators allege Jean-Louis became angry and later obtained information about Cooper’s work schedule before shooting her in the head outside the store. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has charged Jean-Louis with murder. The immigration and alleged sham-marriage details were reported by Fox News based on unnamed DHS sources and have not been independently verified here. Jean-Louis is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

MORE PHILLY CORRUPTION: POLICE OVERSIGHT COMMISSION CHAIR ACCUSED OF SELLING CONFIDENTIAL WITNESS INFORMATION FOR $500 PHILADELPHIA — The chairman of Philadelphia’s Citizens Police Oversight Commission, an agency tasked with promoting police accountability and transparency, has been arrested on bribery and witness intimidation charges. Hassan Bennett, 43, allegedly sold confidential information about a witness in an attempted murder case to Thomas Scott, 45, a defendant accused of trying to silence that witness. According to prosecutors, Bennett obtained unredacted police reports containing the witness’s identity and provided the information to Scott in exchange for $500. Investigators say a recorded prison phone call captured Bennett reading information from the report to Scott. Prosecutors also allege Scott made threats against the witness on social media, including threatening to kill them. Bennett worked as a bail navigator for the Defender Association of Philadelphia while serving as chairman of the city’s police oversight commission. The DA’s Gun Violence Task Force investigated the alleged scheme. Bennett faces charges including bribery, witness intimidation and conspiracy. His bail was set at $1 million. The Defender Association says it is cooperating with investigators and moving to terminate his employment. Bennett has chaired the oversight commission since 2024. He previously spent nearly 13 years imprisoned for a 2006 murder before his conviction was overturned and he was acquitted in 2019. He later reached a $4 million wrongful-conviction settlement with Philadelphia. The investigation remains ongoing. Both Bennett and Scott are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

CCC paragraph 2241: "Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants' duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens." So, are we allowed to decide who can some into the country or not? And should people abide by those rules?

U.S. bishops are opposing proposed Census Bureau rule changes for the 2030 census, arguing that excluding noncitizens without lawful permanent resident status from the apportionment count would effectively deny them recognition as persons. ewtnnews.com/world/us/u-s-bi…
