Acum toată lumea l-a văzut. RUSSIA'S AIR DEFENSES ARE FAILING A TEST THEY WERE NEVER BUILT TO PASS Russia spent decades building one of the world's most formidable air defense networks. Ukraine is exposing its fundamental weakness. The problem isn't simply that Ukrainian drones are getting through. It's that Russia's air defense system was built for a different kind of war. Expensive radars. Sophisticated missile batteries. Layered protection around strategic sites. All designed around the assumption that a limited number of high-value threats could be detected, tracked, prioritized and intercepted. Then Ukraine changed the equation. Instead of relying only on aircraft and missiles, Ukraine built a long-range campaign of drones, decoys, shifting flight routes and repeated strikes on Russian infrastructure. And the mathematics became brutal. A relatively cheap drone can force Russia to fire an interceptor that costs many times more. A wave of incoming targets can stretch radar coverage, drain ammunition and force commanders to choose what to protect. An oil refinery? An ammunition depot? An airfield? A headquarters? Russia cannot protect everything at once. Its geography, long seen as a strategic advantage, is becoming an expensive liability. Radar coverage is limited by terrain and altitude. Interceptors have finite range. Crews need time to react. Even advanced systems become vulnerable when they must defend an enormous territory against persistent attacks from many directions. Ukraine doesn't need to destroy Russia's entire air defense network. It only needs to find the gaps, exploit them, and force Moscow to spend more and more defending its own territory. To be clear: Russian air defenses have not collapsed. Many Ukrainian drones are shot down. But repeated successful strikes show that Russia cannot guarantee the safety of its most important infrastructure. And that matters far beyond the physical damage. Every battery moved to guard a refinery is a battery missing somewhere else. Every interceptor fired has a financial and logistical cost. Every successful strike forces Russian planners to rethink their priorities. Here is the irony. Moscow invaded Ukraine expecting to demonstrate military superiority. Instead, it is defending facilities deep inside Russia against weapons built by the country it expected to defeat in days. Russia built its air defenses to survive a confrontation with NATO air power. Ukraine is testing them with something entirely different. The question is no longer whether Ukrainian drones can reach Russian territory. They can. The question is how much Russia will have to sacrifice to stop them, and how long it can afford to keep paying that price.

A war is coming to the West Bank Yesterday Palestinian resistance fighters conducted a surgical strike against Israeli occupation soldiers, fully in accordance with international law. In response, Israeli government immediately announced that they will do war crimes and started doing war crimes. All the Palestinian villages in the West Bank are under siege, the city of Hebron is under siege. IDF is demolishing house after house, raiding family after family. They said they want to turn Hebron into Rafah. More than 250 families were kicked out into the streets with nothing. People slept on the street last night. The Israeli election is in 3 days, and the Netanyahu-Smotrich government is going to use this to start a war in the West Bank. The only way to stop this is pressure from all directions. We know it works. International pressure worked for the besieged house in Qusra, which still belongs to the Palestinians because of the all-around attention. It can work for Hebron too. But it will require EVERYONE reading this doing everything they can to stop this. Call your representative, hold a demonstration, organise direct action against the occupation’s assets abroad. Keep attention on the West Bank. ACT NOW.

In November 1941 the richest man in America drove his twenty-three-year-old daughter to a hospital in Washington without telling her mother, had two surgeons drill holes in her skull and cut into the front of her brain while she sang God Bless America to them, and when the singing stopped she had a mental age of two and the family did not speak her name for twenty years. Rosemary Kennedy was the third child and the first girl, and she was slow. A nurse at the birth had held Rose Kennedy's legs together for two hours while they waited for the doctor, and the baby had been starved of air. She learned to read and write, but late, and in a family where the boys were being bred for the presidency and the girls for the right marriage, she was the one who could not keep up, the one who had to be coached and watched and given the simpler part in the photograph. She was also, by every account, the prettiest of them, and when the family went to London in 1938 she was presented at court in a white dress and curtsied to the King without a mistake. Then she was twenty-one, and the trouble started. Moods. Rages. Slipping out of the convent school at night and coming back in the morning and not saying where. The nuns said she might be meeting men. For Joseph Kennedy, who was managing his sons towards the White House and could not have a daughter who might get pregnant or get talked about, that was the end of it. He had read about a new operation. Walter Freeman had promised the newspapers it calmed the agitated, and Joe Kennedy had never in his life been told that a thing he could pay for would not work. Rosemary was given a mild sedative and kept awake. Freeman and his surgeon, James Watts, opened the skull on both sides and Watts pushed a blade into the frontal lobes and swept, while Freeman asked her to recite the Lord's Prayer and sing, and count backwards, so they would know how far to go. They went until she was incoherent. Then they stopped. She came out of it unable to walk or speak. Years of therapy got her a few words and a limp. Joe moved her to a private hospital in New York and then to a convent school in Wisconsin, told the family she was teaching the retarded in the Midwest, and never went to see her. Rose, her mother, was not told what had been done until long after, and did not visit for twenty years. The brothers and sisters, including the one who became President, were told she was away. When Joe had his stroke in 1961 and could no longer manage the story, Eunice went to Wisconsin and found a woman of forty-three who did not know her, and came home and started the Special Olympics. Rosemary lived to eighty-six, in the convent, and died in 2005 with her surviving sisters at the bed. The brother who became President had signed the first federal mental health law in 1963, and the family has said she was the reason. Freeman kept operating for another twenty-six years. His notes on Rosemary have never been released. That is what the expert's confidence looks like when it meets a powerful man with an inconvenient child. The science was published. The father was certain. The daughter sang to the surgeon until she could not. Every institution that has ever decided it knows what is wrong with you and how to tidy it has the same two ingredients in the room, and the person on the table is still the only one who pays.

I’m deeply disappointed about this result. I’m worried about what it could mean for health care, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ people, education and Indigenous rights…I don’t believe every person who voted Conservative is hateful or unintelligent. People vote for different reasons. But a win doesn’t make a policy harmless, and we shouldn’t pretend the campaign promises… or the rhetoric surrounding them… don’t matter. The Conservatives platform promises to repeal SOGI 123, an optional set of resources schools use to support students and address bullying related to sexual orientation and gender identity. It also promises to repeal DRIPA… B.C.’s framework for bringing the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples into provincial law. Those choices put queer and trans students inclusion and reconciliation at risk. In 2024, Conservative candidate Marina Sapozhnikov used a racist slur to describe Indigenous people and made the baseless claim that 90% of Indigenous people use drugs. During this election, Conservative candidate Mike Hicks said First Nations needed to be “conquered.” Both incidents were condemned by Indigenous leaders. These words carry the weight of a violent colonial history, and political parties must be held accountable. On health care, the platform budgets $205 million a year at full cost for its promise to protect universal care and improve access. It also promises publicly funded treatment through another qualified provider if surgical wait benchmarks are exceeded. That raises real questions about how expanded care outside the public system could affect public staffing and access. What’s been hardest to watch is how hatred, scapegoating and misinformation have been pushed into the mainstream as “common sense.” Far right talking points have made it easier to treat our neighbours rights, identities and histories as threats. That should alarm all of us…I’m not saying every Conservative voter is stupid… you can’t judge one person’s intelligence by their vote, and research can’t explain why any one person voted the way they did. But studies do show a pattern, on average, between lower cognitive test scores and stronger socially conservative and authoritarian views. In a climate full of fearmongering and misinformation, critical thinking matters more than ever… question the talking points and check the facts… And to the Conservative supporters all over social media right now, gloating, mocking people and telling them to “cry harder”… your side won. If your first instinct in victory is to become even crueler, that says far more about your character than it does about anyone you defeated…People are genuinely afraid for their health care, their schools, their rights, their families and their safety. Treating that fear like entertainment isn’t strength, patriotism or political debate. It’s a complete failure of basic human decency…You got the result you wanted. Try showing some humility and humanity. Do better. Be better. An election victory is a mandate to govern… it is not permission to strip people of their dignity, erase their history or treat their rights as negotiable…Human rights are not privileges handed out by whichever political party happens to hold power. Indigenous history doesn’t disappear because the truth makes people uncomfortable. Queer and trans kids don’t become less deserving of safety because adults have turned their existence into a culture war. Women’s equality is not settled enough to be taken for granted, and health care and education should never be sacrificed to satisfy an ideology…To everyone who feels frightened, angry or abandoned by this result… you are not alone. There are still people who see you, stand beside you and will fight like hell for you. I refuse to accept cruelty as “common sense.” I refuse to let misinformation become truth simply because it was repeated loudly enough. You won an election. You did not win the right to decide whose humanity matters.

“The truth of the matter is that Trump will lose no sleep over the deaths of innocents in Ukraine as long as the Russian oligarchs keep pouring cash into his coffers, as they have done for decades. When I started speaking out against Trump over a decade ago, the first thing I talked about was his copious ties to the Russian Mob. Having worked around his family on a TV show, it was quite obvious behind the scenes that they were extremely indebted and subservient to various members of the international criminal underworld. The after-parties looked like a backroom poker den in Brighton Beach. Lots of dudes named Lenny who looked like they would kill you without a care, usually with someone diaphanous and imported on their arms. The kind of young ladies who wear fur coats in May and for whom the word Bulgari becomes a verb. They are transactional arm candy for men who appear to be potatoes attached to skinny jeans, arms hairy and abutted, dripping with diamond-encrusted Swiss watches and gaudy pinky rings. Gold chains and greasy chests under purple silk and neglected buttons. They tended to smell of aftershave and cabbage with a tobacco finish. Ruddy and ruthless, business was conducted with the discernment of a drift net. Their greed enveloped all in their wake. Some men, not made for working themselves, saw it as opportunity. Donald Trump has always been one of those men.”noelcasler.substack.com/p/yo…

5. Proto si Musk, Rubio, Trump a další přehazují zodpovědnost a matou společnost.
