You are complaining that the No campaign told you an oil fund must be “financed by either raising taxes or cutting public spending”. That isn't a political smear; it is a statistical certainty. You admit in your own article that you “spend all the oil revenues on public services”.
If Scotland runs a structural deficit, every penny of revenue is already being spent just to keep day-to-day services running. You cannot divert that cash into a savings fund without instantly triggering austerity to cover the resulting shortfall in the public budget.
You cannot save money you have already spent.
Scotland’s North Sea energy: a burden when we talk about independence, but a valuable asset when Westminster needs the money?

Today I was denied entry into the West Bank, alongside other parliamentary colleagues from across Europe as part of a @ProgIntl delegation.
We were held for 8 hours, interrogated and ultimately prevented from crossing the border.
I came to stand alongside Palestinians being attacked for harvesting olives on their own land. Instead, we were turned away, with no reason given.
More than ever, Palestinians are being subject to terror and violence by the IDF and illegal settlers. Increased blockades, demolitions and unthinkable violence have become the norm for Palestinians in the West Bank.
It is more important now than ever that we bear witness and show our solidarity.
But we were prevented from doing so.
I will continue to do everything I can to apply pressure on the Netanyahu government, and those responsible for the persecution and genocide of the Palestinian people.

The problem with EU free movement is almost everyone in the UK just thinks it will allow them to travel in the EU more easily.
What it also means is that all EU citizens including those rioting ‘students’ will be able to come here.
And every illegal migrant given a passport anywhere in the EU will be able to settle in the UK on the taxpayers expense.
