I've built a business. I've watched it grow. I've made decisions I believed were right at the time, and I've also watched everything I worked so hard for fall apart. And I'm not going to sit here and pretend that every failure was beyond my control. Some things were. Others were the consequences of my own decisions, miscalculations, and trusting that things would work out when the numbers were telling a different story. One of the hardest things about being a business owner is accepting responsibility when things go wrong, especially when other people are affected by your decisions. I've learned that passion doesn't pay salaries. Ambition doesn't guarantee revenue. Working harder doesn't always fix a business that's financially struggling. And sometimes, no matter how much you've invested emotionally, financially, or physically, you have to accept that something is no longer sustainable. Losing a business is more than losing money. It's losing years of work, relationships, opportunities, confidence, and sometimes even a part of your identity. But here's what I've also learned: You can lose a business without losing your ability to build one. I'm not sharing these lessons because I've suddenly figured everything out. I'm sharing them because I've lived through the consequences of getting things wrong. I'm still learning. I'm still rebuilding. And this time, I'm approaching business with a very different understanding of what it actually takes to keep one alive. I don't regret being ambitious. I regret the things I didn't understand soon enough. Success taught me what was possible. Failure taught me what was necessary.
