I was informed today that a lot of special needs / disabled girls and women are put on birth control by family members because they are at risk for being raped by men. That thought never even crossed my mind, that is so vile.

This narrative pisses me off because Africans make up just 15% of the world’s international migrants, and 60% of those migrate within Africa. The idea that Africans have historically been flocking to foreign countries is simply horse shit. 😒

Karen Village has the most beautiful Pub in Kenya. It's called 1865 and the interior literally looks like those saloons you see in movies. The artwork is so beautiful and dots every inch of their walls.
They also have their own craft beer(though tastes like Brew Bistro Beer)
Well noted, and best avoided.
I have travelled far and wide in Kenya, never have I experienced the kind of hostility I have experienced in Magadi on my way to @kweniaecolodge/ @KweniaRange today. What’s up with the Maasai in that area?
A group of friends and I decided to go shoot our shots at Kwenia ranch, however, about 4kms after exiting the Nairobi magadi road and 9kms to the range, we came across a group of Maasai youths who had blocked the road with acacia shrubs. They said that for us to pass we must call the area chief or talk to @KweniaRange guys to come for us.
After almost an hour, tension was rising and by then, the group had grown to about 30 men who popped from every direction. We were forced to turn back and abandon the days plans.
One peculiar thing however, is even after turning back and going up to the tarmac road leading to Magadi. The group followed us, threatening that we should leave that area. By then there were two other vehicles that had been turned back as well. At the junction they had even brought down the Kwenia ranch sign post.
I can imagine what the guys at Kwenia go through, you invest in an area, but your patrons get turned away and are prevented from reaching your premises. In terms of the business lost today, I estimate quite an amount. This is because in total, we’re about 25 people.

Great line from the CTO of Proton. I’m paraphrasing and stealing it :
Your job is not to use agents to help you write code. Your job is to lead the agents to help them write code.

Compilers replace divisions by a constant with a multiplication followed by a shift. Indeed, multiplications are much cheap. Recent processors can retire 3 multiplications per cycle!!! Multiplications are really getting cheap.
Interestingly, our compilers do not use the cheapest routine possible. In several instances, we can beat them. In the attached article I describe one such instances I found this week.

"I have received so much backlash from my earlier tweet. So let me write a long convoluted paragraph and double down on my nonsense. And then I can end by reminding them that I'm better than them. That should convince them I'm completely unbothered, which I clearly am."
This a memo to all the sanctimonius dimwits that have been camped here two days hyperventilating about a comment they did not understand.
The subject matter is a “dysfunctional country”. A country is not the State oo government. The functioning or dysfunction of country refers to its civic culture, not the performance of its public officials. By dysfunctional country I understand overlapping drivers causing endless gridlocks, where buildings collapsing, students burning schools and murderous cults become normalized. Yes, dysfunctional country can be exhausting, but no one owes you better one. Whatever you think of those of us who have stepped forward to do our bit, whether we are corrupt or unsophisticated, we are better than you. You pointing fingers from a safe distance, are the scum of the earth.

“Not paying attention to politics” works when you’re a teenager, but it’s an embarrassingly privileged and immature stance as an adult. Grow up.
