All five of Thursday's council by-elections are now in. Reform won none of them. Second in Hartlebury (37.7%), Saron (28.0%) and Grantham St Wulfram's (25.1%). Third in Hertford Kingsmead (15.5%) and Calverley & Farsley (12.0%, down 4.8 on May). Hartlebury was the closest: a Conservative hold on 49.9%, 12 points clear, on a 25% turnout. Conservatives won four (three gains from Labour, the Greens and an Independent, plus the hold). Plaid took Saron from Labour. In most of these wards Reform didn't stand last time, so those shares aren't an increase on anything. Calverley is the only clean like-for-like comparison. Small ward contests, not national polling.
