I found the domain industry by accident in 2011. I want more women to find it on purpose, as it's an amazing industry! Here are 22 women who built it and still work in it, in brokerage, registries, law, and policy. Sharing a group a day through Monday, ahead of @NamesCon but here is the full list. Look forward to seeing everyone! probroker.com/domain-intel/w…

Just blogged: The Tokens[.]com domain name was sold for $5 million in October 2026, according to a new SEC filing. freespeech.com/2026/11/05/to… Two blog posts in one week? The low life parasitic copycat bloggers must be sweating.... 🤣

The $SHOP Shopify earnings call could not be more bullish for domain names! Not only did they confirm the purchase of Shop.com for $100 Million, but they also confirmed that domain names are increasingly MORE important in the ai digital commerce world than ever before! Particularly in the face of agents and agentic shopping, not in-spite of them. Here is the exact language from the earnings call: Paul Treiber, a capital markets analyst at the Royal Bank of Canada, asked the following: Q: Good morning. Shopify acquired shop.com this quarter for about $100 million, which is a significant sum. How do you view the coexistence of shop.com with merchant websites and other channels? Why now, especially against the backdrop of the rise of AI agents? Why is having a centralized entry point important? Answer (Harley Finkelstein): In the brick-and-mortar retail world, it's location, location, location. We believe the same holds true for the internet—shop.com is our prime "golden address." Think of it this way: this is a statement signaling that we're ready to take Shop in a more ambitious direction. We intend to deliberately invest in building Shop's reputation and discoverability as a destination for consumers, rather than merely as an order‑tracking tool. We see it as a highly convenient and accessible gateway for shoppers to discover great brands and products. The switch requires no action from merchants, and Shop's web‑based shopper traffic is already growing faster than its app‑based traffic. We're simply moving from shop.app to shop.com. We consider this one of the most important addresses on the internet, and it reflects our ambitions for Shop."

"Good morning. Thanks for taking the question. Shopify during the quarter bought Shop.com for about $100 million. It's a fairly sizable amount. How do you think about Shop.com coexisting with merchant websites and other channels? And then the second question is, you know, why now, particularly in light of the rise of AI agents, you know, what's the importance of having a centralized location? Yeah, look, in the physical retail world, location, location, location matters. We think the same thing applies on the internet as well, and we think shop.com is an incredible prime address for us. I think the way you should view this is this is a declaration that we're ready for more ambitious, more ambitious posture for Shop. You know, we wanted to make a deliberate investment to Shop's credibility and discoverability as a consumer shopping destination, not just a tracking utility. And we think this is a really convenient, very easy entry point for shoppers to discover incredible brands and products. The transition required no action from merchants, and shopper traffic to Shop is growing even faster on the web than in the app. 1h 4m 25s So this was, this was us moving, you know, moving basically the shop. You know, we were at shop.app previously, we're moving to shop.com. We think this is one of the most important locations on the internet, and that really matters to us. But I think, I think you can sort of glean from this what our ambition is with Shop."
They just asked about it now.

Just heard from Andrew Miller who confirmed Glow.com was sold. @amiller325gd told me: "I can confirm I and ATM Holdings oversaw a win-win transaction for Glow.com and I'm excited to see what it's about to become."
Nameservers for Glow.com changed from MarkMonitor to Cloudflare, and there's a verification txt record. The domain name does not resolve at the moment. Glow.com had been listed for sale via MarkMonitor: web.archive.org/web/20230401… Glow.com is still registered to DNStination Inc., MarkMonitor's Whois privacy service. I am not certain if the domain name changed hands, but that would be my guess. Nameserver change spotted by @domainIQ_com and @DotWeekly.

AI can clone your product in a weekend. Design around your patents in hours. Turn your engineers, designers, and managers into commodities. It cannot steal the exact name people already type, remember, and trust. Your domain is not a URL. It is the last scarce brand asset left. A trademark protects one mark in one class. Your exact-match .com is the name they type in every class. Everything else just became a commodity. Brand = Domain Name = The Last Moat
