People stop using them because people can make more of it out of thin air. So it became worthless same as fiat.
Replying to @RobinWoodInvest
Salt, beads and stones all had value because people believed in them, until they didn't. Bitcoin may be better money than any of them, but it's still built on the same thing: belief.

We owe you an apology.
On October 20, we detected unauthorized access to our official website. After verifying API activity with Shopify, we confirmed on October 23 that a third party obtained customer shipping information. You trusted us with those details, and we're sorry we didn't keep them safe.
Exposed: names, contact details, shipping addresses, and order details (items and prices).
Not exposed: payment card or bank details, recovery phrases, private keys, or wallet passwords.
We've blocked access, fixed the vulnerability, opened an investigation, and are emailing affected customers.
Scammers may pose as Keystone by phone, text, email, or mail, offering refunds, replacement devices, or "fixes" for your order or address. None of it is from us.
NEVER share your recovery phrase or private keys, and NEVER enter your recovery phrase into a device you didn't order. We will never ask for them. Don't click links in unexpected messages. Type keyst.one yourself.
A detailed report is coming soon.
Until then, trust only our official channels. If anything feels off, email [email protected]. We'd rather hear from you than have you take a chance.
Again, we're truly sorry to everyone affected.

One of the things I like about Blockstream Jade Plus is that it doesn't need to connect to your computer to sign Bitcoin transactions.
Its built-in camera enables air-gapped signing through QR codes, without USB or Bluetooth connections during the signing process.
With Blockstream App Desktop, you can connect, unlock, verify addresses, and sign transactions using QR codes while keeping your private keys on the hardware signer.
Fully open-source hardware and firmware. Bitcoin and Liquid support. Self-custody without unnecessary connectivity.

Correction: I said @Ledger didn't talk about the implant situation at all despite knowing about it - they did publish an academy topic in March 2026 that talks about it and recommends buying direct or from Authorized Resellers.

This is toxic and disingenuous. Tangem is misleading so many folks who don’t know better.
Gaslighting the industry for years.
Blind signing has a clear definition. This product is a glorified 2FA hot wallet and doesn’t protect from the most simple type of attack: a compromised phone or computer.
Hey, Chris!
A screen doesn’t solve blind signing. Huge sums have been lost to transactions people approved on screens they couldn’t actually read. Please read it: tangem.com/en/blog/post/blin…
Why the "no screen is bad" narrative fails
By shifting key processes to the secure mobile app, Tangem’s hardware wallet doesn't need a display. The secure app handles all critical interactions and is protected by the robust security layers outlined above. This simplifies the user experience while keeping their digital assets safe.
The app side is hardened separately: integrity checks against modified versions, root and jailbreak detection, tapjacking protection, certificate pinning, DexProtector, and open code on GitHub. Details here: tangem.com/en/blog/post/mobi…
We compared the two approaches and chose the one we believe is safer and simpler for people to use. Ledger Cryptobilis incident shows it was the right choice: with Tangem, a story like this simply couldn’t have happened.
Yes yes yes yes!
Unpopular opinion
"@tangem is not a hardware wallet"
Think about that carefully before you speak 😊 let that sink in
Finally someone say something right.

I flew to Paris to talk to Charles Guillemet
(@P3b7_ ), CTO at @Ledger
I was concerned that the Ledger implant attack could be a worldwide exploit hitting tens of thousands of devices potentially impacting all of us
I am happy to say, that does not seem to be the case
From my discussion with Charles I understood the following:
• It's a physical attack on the actual hardware. Every device has to be opened by hand and fitted with a hidden implant. Then repackaged seamlessly.
• Each implant needs a custom PCB, an LTE modem and dedicated manufacturing
• The tempered devices have to be sent to buyers unnoticed.
This operation is “easy” with one reseller in one region but extremely difficult and expensive to expand to other regions / resellers.
The estimated cost to temper with a few hundred devices in one region are estimated to be more than $1M
The above makes it extremely unlikely that this is a global scale issue impacting thousands of devices
This is a targeted, expensive supply-chain attack, not a backdoor in every Ledger.
Devices bought from Ledger directly are not impacted

The whole hardware wallet implant situation is just too stressful and worrying to even think about.
The bank that first starts offering Bitcoin custody for customers, with some form of fund protection of up to $250,000 (similar to FDIC insurance), and also provides Bitcoin-related loans, will become the biggest bank in the world.
Clear case is a MUST.
Following the tampering of @Ledger devices and the theft of funds, wouldn't it be better for major hardware wallet manufacturers (Ledger, Trezor, Safepal, Bitbox, Ellipal, ColdCard, etc.) to start considering the production of transparent models?
At the very least, this would save users from having to play amateur mechanic by opening up the device!
It probably wouldn't solve the problem, but at least major changes would be noticed.

Ledger Flex sold at Singapore Airport confirmed to contain a spy implant!
@BenYorke found suspicious marks on his @Ledger and sent it to me rather than using it, that was probably the best decision here.

I have a $300 @Ledger Flex that I bought from the Singapore airport in summer (Metapod, should be fine?)
I never plugged it in but it looks like theres some scratches on the casing, an indication of potential tampering?
Anyways theres no way i can trust it (or Ledger) now
