#ADOS fam - what's some solid books that focuses on Black American food/gardening/herbalism during slavery and maybe during reconstruction?

People will honestly work to destroy your reputation just so they can steal your work, because destroying Black celebrity worship is what Antonio & I have been doing for a decade.
FD Signifier explains that the point of his video is to cut down on celebrity worship, especially among Black people.
He points to Black celebrities people love without paying attention to their politics.
According to him , It hurts to see where Jasmine Crockett is right now. It hurts to see Jay-Z's views on capitalism. And it hurts to see what Kanye West has become.
His argument is that you can criticize them and still love their art.
Killer Mike, who dissed him in a freestyle, is his example.
He said , people are shocked to learn Mike is still one of his favorite rappers, and part of why he made the video was to reconnect with the music he loved so much.
He even admits he almost feels bad. In the last few months Mike has been doing interviews with prominent Democrats, which FD jokes is his "my bad" moment for Stacey Abrams.
He does credits that shift to people kicking Mike's back, and he gives Mike props for being willing to change.
According to him , Mike putting himself in a position to be criticized shows he isn't too far gone. Many of the Black leaders in that "misleadership" role refuse to be held accountable at all.
He respects Mike for that, and hopes the guy who once said "I'm going to burn this motherf***er down" is still in there.

Newsflash.
The US government has been targeting Black Americans for harm and deprivation of resources for generations.
#VoteAccordingly
The Trump Administration’s case against Congresswoman Omar has no legal basis.
If they’re willing to target an elected member of Congress, imagine what they’re doing to people without the platform to fight back.
When Democrats reclaim the majority in Congress, we will hold this administration accountable for its abuses of power.

This is so frustrating because #ADOS has long argued for building power by using our leverage to force the Democratic Party to be accountable to us—its base. A strategy to ultimately change who controls the Party and its priorities. Yet when we articulate that strategy, we’re dismissed as “Democratic shills”.
Now we see the same strategy described by Piker as a path to political power.
This is why political education matters. Our inability to pushback against the Democratic Party is directly tied to the lack of political education in our community. Organizing to capture power is not the same as organizing to protect those who already have it. People struggle with sophisticated political tactics because they don’t study politics or trust people who do.
As I prepared for the interview by researching his commentary, I realized that Piker is right to complain that the handful of frequently repeated controversial statements fail to accurately represent his worldview.
In fact, it’s much worse than those quotes suggest. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

What Joy Reid is saying is that being Black doesn’t make you #ADOS, because you don’t have the inherited experience of oppression that spans generations.
That knowledge of America’s racial caste isn’t built into the lives or educations of Black immigrants or foreign Blacks.
Reid’s spent a decade denying what she readily admits in this segment—that there is no such thing as flat Blackness. Having African ancestors is not a foundation for solidarity. It’s not enough because we’re too different.
Life has spun Reid around to the point of using the #ADOS argument to defend foreign Blacks, thus validating everything we’ve been saying. And Reid is so confused, she doesn’t even realize what she’s doing:
“The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.”

If we don’t expect America to pay the reparations that are owed to ADOS, why are we expecting America to protect immigrants?
Why are we expecting America to support a free Palestine?
Why are we expecting America to have fair business relations with African nations?

Nobody wants a practical politician right now.
Most voters want a politician who believes in something & is willing to fight for it. Harris should just bow out of the 2028 race. She’s empty & tone deaf.
Kamala Harris: I honestly don't believe that it will be anytime soon that we are going to revive the voting rights act. So, I don't believe it is going to be the best use of our energy right now to try to get that done because I don't know that it will get done right now the way this congress is composed and the way they have been treating civil rights issues.

How political factions address black voters.
MAGA - Ni99er
Rep. - I don't see race, except white.
Dem. - I hear your problem, but what about this other group. Who else are you voting for?
DSA - This is what we are offering, it's better than the others. Take it or shut up.

Oh please be quiet. When #ADOS said politics is an exchange—not a gift—& as such we refuse to just vote blue no matter who, Joy Reid accused us of being MAGA & Russian bots. She also accused us of voter suppression for making demands of the Democratic Party.
And if you give Reid another job in mainstream news, she’ll do it again.
Reid has ZERO credibility.

The Statue of Liberty was never intended to represent immigrants.
It was meant to celebrate freed slaves. You don’t need to put a bedsheet over it. Just give it back its original meaning.
We know he won’t, and we know exactly why.
Nehls: You have to love our country. This is what we gotta do. We gotta put a big bed sheet over the Statue of Liberty. 10 year moratorium on immigration. She gotta go to sleep for a while. I'm not saying she's dead. Instead of having a torch, maybe it needs a stop sign.
PabloReports: What grade would you give Donald Trump on affordability?
Nehls: An A, A+. He's dealing with the previous administration and all the stupid things that they did.

Victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre have never been compensated, but apparently there is a plan afoot to pay the Jan 6 thugs who defecated in the U.S. Capitol, attacked police & destroyed property.
Any country that allows this to happen is, in fact, a racist country.
President Trump is expected to drop his $10 billion IRS suit in exchange for the creation of a $1.7 billion fund for victims of governmental "weaponization," sources say. abcnews.link/SYPolhJ

Slavery in this country lasted 246 years. Jim Crow lasted around 100 years.
Our attempt to remedy the impact of those crimes against humanity was met with white terrorism & savagery.
The laws we finally got passed to address these harms were relentlessly challenged & lasted only 61 years before they were all finally stripped away.
This country has decided that the idea of race can be used to multigenerationally oppress us, but any remedy must be race neutral, which means there can be no remedy.
Never again will I vote for a presidential candidate who is unwilling to admit that America—a country that wouldn’t exist without chattel slavery—is a racist nation. That’s the beginning for me, before we even get to policies & legislation.
Breaking News: The Supreme Court struck down Louisiana’s voting map, calling it an unconstitutional racial gerrymander. It's unclear how the decision will impact the midterms, but Louisiana will likely lose one Democratic district. nyti.ms/4ugVnDa

The "worst problem you've never heard of" is the leading cause of Black land loss in this country.
Over the years, it's seen Black families stripped of hundreds of billions of dollars in land. It's called "heirs' property."

Interesting how conservatives are suddenly into regulating private companies when it involves potentially disadvantaging black people (let us be completely honest, we are who they have in mind when you think about "diversity"). What a shock!
