Labour talk about giving people "breathing space”.
The truth is they are the ones choking the economy.

Some pleasant Labour surprise at how nuanced Farage is in his criticisms of the Budget and the Chancellor:
“It was competent at every level”

Another disaster Labour budget.
With energy bills set to go up by hundreds again in January, this budget did nothing to help anybody that’s not on benefits.
Taxes up on workers to pay for more benefits. Defence budget cut.

Oh this is delicious, Sir Desmond Swayne can take no more, his piss is boiling over John Healey's Budget, and as such he let's rip in extraordinary fashion, for 6 minutes.

Someone who didn't get the memo: A Labour MP who's snap verdict was that it "felt like a budget for an early election".

Andy Burnham has once again ruled out a snap election in the next year.
Asked if he would do so, the PM told reporters:
“I don’t know how many times I’ve done this now, but yes, I can rule out calling a general election in the next 12 months.
“I have said repeatedly since coming into this job, I’m not thinking about myself. I’m not thinking about my own party and its prospects.
“I am thinking about people, and I’m thinking about what I can do to help them to have that care for people, which I spoke about on my first day in Downing Street.”
He added: “We’ve got a 10-year plan to come, and that will inform the spending review next year. These are my priorities, not looking at our own internal party political advantage.”
Badenoch's focus squarely on lack of what she's as action on defence, welfare and tax cuts. Given a harder budget to find big unpopular things. Makes sense to lean into thermostatic turn in favour of lower taxes and we know that this is particularly the case on the right

Growth is downgraded!
What planet are they on?
A big Budget for economic growth. Decisive moves on energy, devolution and backing business. Proud to have worked with @JohnHealey_MP to deliver it.

Raheem is so desperate to attack the Tories and Kemi Badenoch that he is willing to trust one solitary poll which has Labour on 32% 🤣🤦🏼♂️ #Desperation

Oh, sorry! That's my statement on Liz Truss's budget, which shows how much I know.

It’s palpably clear that John Healey will never forgive Margaret Thatcher for giving families like mine the opportunity to buy their council houses & own their own homes.
You can hear it in the way they talk about it.

UK Income Tax was introduced as a "temporary" response to the Napoleonic Wars.
How is that going?
EXCLUSIVE: John Healey’s bank tax rise will be temporary and come in at less than 8%, Bloomberg understands

“Hi, it’s Octopus Energy here, we see you are £800 in credit and paying £250 a month so we thought we’d put up your direct debit to £340 a month so we can earn even more interest using your money. It’s for your own good because we’re really going to shake you down this winter.”
