Outdoor Warning Sirens are just that-to warn people who may be outdoors of an impending tornado. They are usually placed in areas where frequent outdoor activity takes place and have an effective range of about a mile. Don’t depend on hearing one inside your home during a weather event. Instead, sign up for the CodeRED Alerting System for FREE. This system sends targeted, area-specific alerts straight to your mobile phone via text, automated call, or both to notify you of severe thunderstorm, flood, and tornado warnings in your area. Visit buttscountyga.com, scroll to the bottom of the page, and look for the CodeRED signup button on the left. You can also sign up here: public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en… Make sure to save the CodeRED number (866-419-5000) in your contacts and mark it as a favorite so you don’t miss important alerts due to spam filters. Stay informed and be prepared for storms coming tomorrow and Sunday. #CodeRed #weatherpreparedness #staysafe

I was proud to introduce County Resolution CR202506 at the Board of Commissioners meeting last night to declare the year of 2025 as "Bicentennial Year in Butts County" to commemorate our County's founding in 1825. We hope to join with our cities, churches, local organizations and businesses in a year of commemorative activities to acknowledge our rich history in Georgia and the accomplishments we have made over the past two centuries. #ButtsCountyGa #Bicentennial
