Democracy has spoken ✊ Our election’s results are being celebrated around the world because working people’s voices are being heard.
The head of France's biggest trade union thanked American voters for the results of the 2026 midterm elections, calling them “very good news for workers all around the world." Speaking to CBS News’ @RamyInocencio during nationwide protests in France, Sophie Binet said that workers have been among the first to feel the consequences of wars involving Donald Trump, with rising energy prices linked to the conflicts in Ukraine and Iran adding to the pressure on household budgets.

So here's what happened in today's Stupid Olympics. There are two people named Dana White. One is President and CEO of the UFC The other is Dana W. White, who served as the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and Chief Pentagon Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense under Secretary James Mattis Their pictures are below. He's the white guy. She's the Black woman. I'll call them UFC Dana and DOD Dana to make it easier for you. Suzie Wiles, shortly before being replaced by Count Stephen Miller, advised Trump that his new Press Secretary should be Dana White. And Trump in all his finite wisdom, immediately assumed the UFC Dana, who has never done anything to prepare him for press secretary, and not DOD Dana, whose entire career has been in preparation for that. Now you might be saying, "Kelly, not everyone knows about DOD Dana. It's an honest mistake." But he's NOT just "everyone." He's the President of the United States. And this is a man whose administration has been firing Black people, women, trans people, and so on, insisting that none of them got their job based on merit. And then he's going to name someone completely unqualified to be Press Secretary because the President is a fan of the UFC. And he didn't even think to ask anyone. It never even occurred to him to ponder whether UFC Dana is the person he should pick as Press Secretary. Stupid and incurious are a dangerous combination, and this man is both of those things. And that got me to thinking about the two Dan Sullivan in Alaska. And I get it now. The man who is too stupid to know the difference between two Dana Whites thinks Alaskans are too stupid to know the difference between two Dan Sullivans.

The word is out about the Election Night Watch Party at the White House on Tuesday. For weeks, Trump had been assured by Susie Wiles and his staff that all the polls were wrong, and that, once again, the Blue Wave would only be a ripple, if one even showed up at all. And the DOJ was ready to pounce on it if it did. Trump, after all, was on the ballot. "Vote like I'm on the ballot,' he said, "Because I am." He told every rally that. He said it on FOX. He had a 90% approval rate, he said. And $5000 checks for everybody. What could possibly go wrong? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . So the East Room was decked out with the finest crystal and china. Staffers thought it would be a fun "cheeky rebuke" to order in platters of finger food from Cheesecake Factory. Just to give a finger to Barack Obama, for his viral joke about Trump’s gaudy renovations to the White House. EVERYONE showed up in their party clothes. His Staff. His Cabinet. Top GOP politicians. Donors. But there was no Host or Hostess to greet them. Which was a little odd. The guests mingled among themselves, and waited to be formally welcomed and invited to sample the refreshments. Where were Trump and Melania? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Trump waited upstairs in his residence, in order to make a grand entrance to a standing ovation with cheers, once the happy results started pouring in. And was Melania also waiting upstairs, to march in at his side? Nope. Melania was not at the White House at all. On election night, the most anticipated night in politics, with the rest of her husband's term on the line, Melania was somewhere else. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Finally at 8:00 the first election results came in. But during that entire first hour, not ONE Republican was named. It was only Democrat after Democrat, starting with Jon Ossoff. Trump never came downstairs. At all. Marco Rubio was the first to go missing, according to the Daily Mail. Then, one by one, the rest of the party goers slipped out the door. Only two hours later, an enormous decision was called. Democrats had flipped the House of Representatives to their control. And in most cases, the Democrats won, not by slim majorities, but by double digits. It was 10:00, and the East Room was empty. The party goers had gone to a nearby Washington bar to drown their sorrows. The Cheesecake Factory food lay untouched on the East Room tables. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . And Trump? He was upstairs watching the results on FOX News, and posting angrily on Truth Social. He wasn't alone. No, Melania wasn't with him. But Natalie Harp was. The Daily Mail reports that Susie Wiles, his Chief of Staff was upstairs as well. The one who had assured him day after day that Republicans would win. By 11 pm, Trump stopped posting. “He’s watching Fox News barely uttering a word and paralyzed into silence,” a source close to the president told the Daily Mail. “It’s very, very dark in the residence,” one senior official said of Trump’s mood. “It’s a dark scene.” Another source said, “They were delusional right until the very end.” . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The Cybertruck is getting discontinued after 3 short years and less than 100,000 sales! I paid $110,873 all cash for mine two years ago. It is still the biggest financial transaction of my life. I understand why it’s getting discontinued. In order of importance: - Elon lied to use about range He offered a range extender package to boost the range from 300 miles to 500 miles for $16,000. I put the deposit on that and then it was abruptly canceled and refunded. This gave me intense buyers remorse - the cybertruck became a symbol of right wing politics Driving a cybertruck in SF caused me to get flipped off by so many people on a near-daily basis. Sometimes people would scream at me and tell me I’m a terrible human being. - they optimized for speed over convenience I couldn’t use my truck to tow my stuff from SF to Las Vegas in January because charging the cybertruck requires you to unhitch the tow which is insanely cumbersome. On top of that, towing reduces the range from 300 miles to 150 miles! It’s cool it can go 0 to 60 in less than 3 seconds but that’s a fun gimmick more than something that seriously impacts my life. Do I regret buying my super fast dumpster? Absolutely not. It changed my perspective on the world. Now I own a 2024 foundation model Cyberbeast which they only made ~10,000 of total. So my truck will probably appreciate in value as Tesla becomes more successful. It’s also DataExpert.io’s company vehicle so it saved me ~$35,000 on my taxes when I bought it in 2024. So it’s a $75,000 speedy dumpster not a $110,000 speedy dumpster. It has been a very strange journey with the Cybertruck!

We should put policies like banning federal stock trading and cracking down on Trump’s corruption up for a vote. Let the Republicans decide if they want to stay tied to this. If they do, let’s clear away Senate filibuster rules and pass the laws anyway.

Hours after a Trump-backed federal commission signed off on his 250-foot triumphal arch, federal Judge Tanya Chutkan ordered construction halted for 14 days. The ruling is a major victory for the veterans who sued to stop the vanity project from proceeding near the graves of Arlington. The fight is not over, but the law is on our side. washingtonpost.com/politics/…
