Calgary Police Service notified of ASIRT conclusion in university protest camp removal.
CPS Chief Mark Neufeld has been notified by Minister of Public Safety & Emergency Services Mike Ellis that the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) investigation of the protest camp removal at the University of Calgary has been completed.
Using the definition of ‘serious’ that is regularly employed by ASIRT when conducting investigations into harm caused by police, ASIRT has found that the allegation of ‘serious’ injuries cannot be verified.
As a result, the matter no longer falls within ASIRT’s mandate & complaints related to the University of Calgary incident will now fall under the mandate of the CPS Professional Standards Section. To date, the Service has received eight complaints.
ASIRT received the full co-operation of both the Edmonton Police Service & the CPS during the investigation. This included access to body worn camera footage where it existed & the forwarding of complaints that were made to the agency’s professional standard branches.
We respect the independent oversight that ASIRT brings & thank them for their work on this matter.
We remain committed to facilitating lawful, peaceful & safe demonstrations while striving to minimize impact to the community.

Following the containment of a recent cybersecurity breach, Calgary Public Library has now concluded its investigation and is focusing on operational recovery as it moves toward restoring full services.
The Library’s Technology Team and existing cybersecurity partners engaged a Microsoft Incident Response team to support containment procedures and complete a thorough investigation. The findings of the investigation confirm that while servers were compromised, no business, employee or membership data was affected. The incident was identified as an attempted ransomware attack, which the Library’s monitoring systems successfully blocked.

We have rescinded Stage 4 water restrictions.
We know how disruptive these past 4 months have been & we couldn’t have made all the required repairs without your sacrifice & support.
To the residents of Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, Tsuut’ina Nation and Strathmore, THANK YOU ❤️

Norquay Road closed to all traffic - vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians - on Monday, Sept. 16 and Tuesday, Sept. 17 for Canadian Pacific Kansas City repairs to the railway crossing. Enter and exit the town of Banff from Banff Avenue. Access to the Fenlands Recreation Centre from the highway only. For cyclists wanting to ride the Bow Valley Parkway, there is no access from the townsite on Norquay Road or the adjacent trail.

In the 9 years it took to cancel #greenlineyyc, the Calgary of the 80s built almost 50% of our current LRT system.
Our leaders weren't thinking about how to get more cars into downtown. They were looking at how to move people around our city quickly and affordably.

Very somber & sad in here. Most of us working would have seen #JohnnyGaudreau grown up over the years.
Extra sad. The 1st #NHL job for our new BIG screen has his pic on it

Our hearts are broken by this devastating loss. Johnny was and always will be a member of the Flames family and loved by all of Calgary.

It’s hot! At these temps demand for electricity goes up – yesterday to a record peak of 12,122 MW. Conserving power at this time of year between 5-9:30 p.m. helps keep our grid strong for all Albertans. Stay cool! #ABElectricity More tips here: aeso.ca/aeso/electricity-in-…
