🚨 California: Our hospitals are under attack. 🚨 This is National Hospital Week. Join families, seniors, doctors, nurses and people with disabilities across the state for a Statewide Day of Action on Tuesday, May 13. 📍 We’ll rally at vital hospitals across California to say: Hands Off Medicaid! Republican leaders in D.C. are pushing a reckless $880 billion cut that will affect Medicaid, slashing Medi-Cal and threatening care for entire communities. Even those with private insurance will feel the impact as hospitals cut staff, close services—or shut down entirely. 🔗 Find an event near you or sign up to host one at your at-risk hospital: fightforourhealth.org/save-o…

Today is Moms Equal Pay Day. Too many women who balance work and caregiving are still navigating systems that were never built by them, or with them in mind. Moms are the backbone of our economy, yet they continue to face persistent pay gaps contributing to an overall wealth gap.

We are proud of this partnership and the work it takes to strengthen the ability of nonprofit organizations to thrive and serve their communities. 🙌🏼 #AB1039 #CA #Nonprofit #Equity
Today, Dr. Le Ondra Clark Harvey, CEO of the California Behavioral Health Association (CBHA), testified before the Assembly Governmental Organizations Committee in support of AB 1039 (Hart). 📢 “Let’s give nonprofits the tools they need to thrive and help Californians. Advance pay is the right, simple solution.” – Dr. Clark Harvey 🗣 CBHA members are community-based behavioral health providers and they know that advance pay reduces financial risk and increases their capacity to serve. This bill takes a simple but powerful step: providing advance pay for nonprofits contracting with the state. As the demand for services grows, especially among vulnerable populations, AB 1039 ensures California’s nonprofit partners have the support they need to deliver high-quality, life-changing care. We extend our gratitude to @AsmGreggHart for his leadership and Committee Chair, Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio and members for support. 👏

Today #AB1039 passed unanimously out of the GO Committee! Many thanks to author @AsmGreggHart, and leg & nonprofit leaders for working to improve how state government contracts with nonprofits as a matter of equity – for our communities and for the nonprofits that serve them. 💫

.@RepDavidValadao if you cut health care funding for #MediCal or #CoveredCalifornia, what will you say to more than half a million of your constituents who will be impacted? How will you tell them you failed them? #HandsOffOurHealthCareCA

🚨 Don’t Cut Their Lifeline! California children in foster care rely on Medi-Cal for their health and well-being. They account for 41% of all people who get mental health service. These youth have already faced unimaginable hardships. Cutting Medicaid means cutting the care they depend on to heal. 💔 We cannot let federal cuts take away their right to mental health services, stability, and a chance at a better future. 📢 Raise your voice. Call your representatives. Fight for Medi-Cal funding. 866-420-2631
