More great news for the campaign. Sharon Hodgson and Sir Julian Lewis raised financial redress for women harmed by pelvic mesh in the House of Commons. The Leader of the House recognised the profound impact on women and frustration over the lack of a response to the Hughes Report

The original narrative that mesh caused ‘avoidable harm’ was true - but since that was said the evidence of much deeper longstanding harm has been identified and must be examined further 🚨This new evidence should have brought about a public inquiry into the plastic mesh scandal - I’m disappointed this is still not being reported 🔹The University of Sheffield work (led by researchers including Nicholas Farr and Sheila MacNeil) has shown that polypropylene mesh can begin surface degradation, oxidation, and stiffening within about 60 days in a sheep pelvic model, with progressive particle release into surrounding tissue by 180 days. 🔹Related studies have examined how oxidised or mechanically distressed mesh surfaces alter macrophage gene expression toward pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic responses. 🔹Separately, the 2026 BJUI Compass paper by Jamieson and colleagues reported systemic immune changes in women with urogynaecological mesh complications—elevated chemotactic factors in serum and increased immunomodulatory protein release from patients’ peripheral blood mononuclear cells—distinct from healthy controls. 🔹These findings post-date much of the classic mesh-inquiry evidence base and speak more directly to material instability and host response than earlier arguments about “inert” implants or purely mechanical problems, and gives clear evidence that these implants cause multiple lifelong complications and pain

When medical procedures go wrong it seems to be commonplace for the victims to be abandoned by the government

A 13-year data lag. Every time the media opens the files on the transvaginal mesh disaster, they copy and paste the same frozen statistic from 2013. They want the world to believe the crisis is a closed chapter of history—but a corporate spreadsheet cannot stop a global catastrophe. They froze the numbers because private global settlements and strict NDAs legally buried the post-2013 data behind closed doors. I am not the only one living in the ongoing wreckage. Tens of thousands of women are experiencing severe, complex health decline right now, yet the system forces a numerical blind spot to protect corporate stakeholders and shield doctors from liability. An algorithm has no conscience, but we refuse to be erased from the record. Remember: If our voices held no power, they wouldn't keep trying to silence them. Break the blackout—see the true math they are trying to hide in the comments below. 🧵👇 AI thread stopped as we were working on this??? I'd like to continue

Mesh Makers have been untouchable, protected by an entire global hierarchy—from legislators, governments, and regulators to researchers, corporate media, doctors, and lawyers. This systemic censorship doesn't just hide the past—it actively corrupts the future by prolonging a global catastrophe. For more than a decade, the truth has been exposed, but they keep trying to wipe the slate clean to protect their profits. Break the digital blackout. See who holds the eraser in the comments below. 🧵👇

The pelvic mesh crisis isn't a historic mistake—it is an ongoing state scandal. In 2019, APPG Chair Owen Smith exposed how the medical establishment chose profit, defensiveness, and denial over women’s lives. 7 years later, we are still waiting for redress What did Parliament admit in 2019? • The MHRA hid behind false "1-3% complication" stats • Mesh was aggressively oversold as a "quick fix" • Manufacturers used "fire-and-forget" tactics for profit • Severe trauma was deliberately downplayed #ACaseForRedress Worst of all? The NHS set up "Specialist Centres" staffed by the very surgeons who spent decades implanting the mesh. Women were forced back under the knife of the fraternity that harmed them. It's not a care pathway—it's institutional gaslighting. #SecondMeshScandal youtu.be/geOC3kIQXlg?is=XuXV…

😱Medical gaslighting is a huge issue for people injured by surgical #mesh affecting both women and men. To suffer avoidable harm and then face disbelief, dismissal, or ridicule from the professionals you turn to for help is a profound betrayal of trust.

🚨Because NHS England lacks credentialed, competent surgeons capable of executing complete explantations, regional trusts are routinely performing failed partial removals. Surgeons cut away only the easily accessible plastic, discharging women with false assurances that the mesh is "fully gone". The consequence is catastrophic. Leftover fragments continue to undergo time-dependent oxidative degradation and particle shedding inside the pelvis #publicinquiry #TheSecondMeshScandal #September2026

BBC Newsline 6 Dec 2018 • The woman leading the review team into the vaginal mesh scandal has told the BBC that she is shocked by the awful suffering that some women have had to experience. Baroness Julia Cumbridge has spent the day here meeting and listening to women who've been living with the implants used to treat urinary incontinence. The use of mesh was suspended for this type of condition. Sadly 8 years later the suffering continues #mesh #redress facebook.com/BBCNewsline/vid…

🌸Dear friends, As you know, our campaign continues to push hard for the genuine action and non-adversarial redress we all deserve. My MP recently took my policy document directly to 10 Downing Street, and I am now looking to engage the Health and Social Care Select Committee regarding the reality of the care we are receiving due to what I am reading here and on X. The government often points to official NHS audits to say the specialised mesh centres are working well. We know our lived experiences are often very different. If you feel well enough, could I ask you all to share again a brief sentence or two only in my DM to answer the following: Q: Have you been seen by one of the 9 NHS Specialist Mesh Centres, and did you feel they provided you with clear transparency, full removal options, or comprehensive care and follow up? Your raw, honest feedback will help us show parliamentarians the true picture on the ground and we can press again for a Public Inquiry. Ideally we need 50 - 100 comments: Please only share what you feel comfortable with and rest assured no names will be shared, this is purely for information purposes and thank you for standing together. Susan🫂🌸

Before mesh women had careers, marriages , a role as a mother or a professional or simply as someone capable and well, bright and full of life. Many of us have spent years since that first hideous injury not just in pain, but in the exhausting, undignified work of trying to be believed, of chasing our own medical records, of discovering, sometimes far too late, that we were not told the whole truth about our own bodies and we are still not being told. I am not asking for sympathy, non of us are, but we are asking for justice and redress. ⚖️#justice #redress #women #mesh #life #patientsafety

It would be extremely difficult to avoid lacerating these pelvic nerves whilst ‘blindly’ inserting #mesh No safety precautions using camera led surgery - no post operative scans to check for misplacement as in a PICC line #mesh could have been removed within a 2 -4 week window post op- but instead of listening to their patients scream in agony the doctors gaslighted them - told them they needed hysterectomy or it was all in their heads And the #mesh was left in situ for years & years , no one helped, no one knew how to - it embedded, eroded, caused hideous ongoing infections & in some women they got sepsis & died Multiple organ & nerve injury was inflicted upon patients that were told “minimally invasive” #redressnow #publicinquiry #mesh #harm #injuryforlife @PSCommissioner @mariacaulfield @wesstreeting @APPGFDNH @SharonHodgsonMP @jamesosh @BrineMP @RishiSunak

🔹Mesh erosion The plastic erodes through cell walls, there were no trials 🔸we were the trials and this is not ok Listing these hideous outcomes is all well & good but the explanations are missing & exactly why this went wrong has not been discussed openly #publicinquiry for #mesh must occur
I’d like to add to the below list of injuries my thoughts based on 15 years of mesh injury as to why these injuries occur ….👇 🔹Organ perforations Lackadaisical blind insertion through the vaginal wall - why wasn’t this camera led? 🔹Bleeding Perforation & laceration of blood vessel - due to blind insertion!!! 🔹Chronic infections Puncturing through the vaginal wall - that allows bacteria to flood into the pelvic cavity - the mesh is porous and allows a hiding place for bacteria to thrive 🔹Sexual issues Issues! Vaginal laceration, mesh stuck to internal organs, mesh eroding through organ walls - this is not conducive to a happy love life 🔹Recurrent UTIs The mesh was placed too tightly often buckling the urethra & causing great difficulty in passing urine, many of us have mesh stuck to our bladder walls 🔹Mobility issues Blind insertion & no post operative scans to check for misplacement meant that the mesh procedure lacerated pelvic nerves such as obturator affecting the gait 🔹Serious nerve damage Includes laceration & damage of illiohypogastric, Ilioinguinal, obturator, genitofemoral 🔹Significant pelvic pain The plastic causes a foreign body reaction with inflammation, pelvic nerves have mesh glued to them , the actual plastic can be felt like cutting glass -AT ALL TIMES 🔹Fibromyalgia There is an inflammatory response to the plastic device, & thee was a Safety Data Sheet issued to manufacturers NOT TO PUT THIS STUFF PERMANENTLY INTO THE HUMAN BODY - we were not shown this 🔹Incontinence Meshes inserted too tight & left to rot into the urethra is one reason why incontinence was made worse 🔹Mesh extrusion These meshes were misplaced & started to poke through organ 🔹Mesh erosion The plastic erodes through cell walls, there were no trials 🔸we were the trials and this is not ok Listing these hideous outcomes is all well & good but the explanations are missing & exactly why this went wrong has not been discussed openly #publicinquiry for #mesh must occur @PSCommissioner @wesstreeting @SharonHodgsonMP @APPGFDNH @JuliaCumberlege @AlecShelbrooke @CarolineVoaden @ShabanaMahmood @Nigel_Farage @PHSOmbudsman @AvMAuk @DHSCgovuk

Replying to @LouiseWhitemesh
And the MHRA recently admitted to me they weren’t going to do anything about the recent studies that now prove why we are so ill because the studies are too small! The recent studies prove they had no idea what we would suffer because there had been no trials to start with but they allowed it anyway - one big experiment but not interested in our outcomes!
