Hot and busy day at the Vatican Museums today, but a great tour of the Gardens first and then got to see some of my favorite ancient statues (including the Laocoon group, the Prima Porta Augustus, and a copy of a caryatid) after pushing through the crowds. @CHC_Classics

More than three decades after completing grad school, Professor John Little began taking classes at Holy Cross in 2013 with students half his age. Fast forward nine years, he is still learning and now has enough credits to earn a classics degree. bit.ly/3PtldAz

Some amazing students that I've taught since their first year at the College (also my first year of teaching) presented their senior capstone/thesis projects this morning and I am so proud that I can explode and if you need me I'll be emotional in my office for the next few hours

Thank you to the students on the @CHC_Classics Inclusion Committee for the invitation to speak yesterday about the reception of #Dido in the U.S. in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A great discussion ensued!

Legitimately unintentional but completely serendipitous choice of shirt for today's lecture on Sappho (feat. my Sappho tattoo).

Grading through the first creative projects of the semester, and a lot of students in my intro to Greek lit/culture course are creating Spotify playlists. One based on the Odyssey is entitled "everyone in the odyssey needs therapy." You are absolutely not incorrect, dear student.
