Launch Day! #ISRO marks another milestone in India’s Space journey! The GSLV-F18/NVS-03 mission scheduled for launch today, 30 October 2026, at 23:51 hrs IST from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC SHAR), Sriharikota. NVS-03, the third satellite in the second-generation NVS series, designed to augment the NavIC constellation and ensure continuity of navigation services. A significant step towards strengthening India’s indigenous navigation capabilities!

From the discovery of zero to the development of the number system and advancements in astronomy, India’s culture has always been rooted in knowledge and discovery. Today, we are carrying this scientific heritage forward with modern technology and renewed confidence. Recent examples from the past year help us better understand these transformations. On October 30th, as the nation prepares to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha, it is fitting that we begin with nuclear energy. As you all know, building a Viksit Bharat requires nuclear energy on a large scale. Our dependence on nuclear fuel exports poses a challenge to our energy security. Therefore, Bharat is developing its own fast breeder reactor technology. Prime Minister Sh @narendramodi ji will inaugurate the ‘Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave’ #ESTIC2026 today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The 3-day conclave, being held from October 27–29, will bring together leading scientific minds, researchers, innovators, StartUps and industry leaders to strengthen India’s technology ecosystem and advance the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Late evening, at #BharatMandapam, New Delhi, went around to assess the progress and completion of preparations for the “Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave #ESTIC2026, ahead of its inauguration by PM Shri @narendramodi ji tomorrow. The 3-day conclave, scheduled from Oct 27 to Oct 29 2026, will bring together experts from home and abroad to enrich India’s innovation ecosystem, in keeping with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Participated in e-waste disposal activity at the Department of Personnel & Training #DoPT headquarters under #Special_Swachhata_Campaign 6.0 at Kartavya Bhawan. The entire team of officers as well as rest of the staff, let by Secretary DoPT Smt Rachna Shah, joined the exercise. e-Items disposed today included 152 desktops, 35 printers, 8 scanners, 3 photocopier machines, 59 UPS units, 52 air conditioners, 4 television sets, 5 refrigerators,17 water dispensers, 217 miscellaneous items etc, with base price of Rs 9 lakh. During the ongoing month-long campaign from Gandhi Jayanti Oct 2 to Patel Jayanti Oct 31, undertaken in response to a call by PM Sh @narendramodi ji, approximately ₹490 crore has already been generated through the disposal of scrap within the first 15–17 days. The figure is likely to be more than double by October 31. GeM Portal has been adopted for the disposal process.

With President of the #Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, currently on India visit, held a bilateral meeting, with discussions focused on further strengthening the longstanding India- #Switzerland partnership in science, technology, research and innovation. Reference also came up of the highly fruitful meeting that President Guy Parmelin had with Prime Minister Sh @narendramodi on the first day of his visit yesterday. The delegations from the two sides also joined. Letter of Intent between the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Department of Science & Technology (DST), and the Implementation Agreement between the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and DST have been finalised. The Swiss side was highly appreciative of India’s expanding S&T priorities in biotechnology, vaccine development, genome sequencing, quantum technology, space and deep ocean research, as well as the emerging opportunities in blue economy and bio-economy. The cordial relationship between India and Switzerland makes it easier for the two countries to collaborate at different levels for a sustained engagement in areas of mutual interest. @ParmelinG
