Perhaps the greatest Olympic champion ever produced by the United States. How did he do it? Donuts.

The Brewers regarded smoking cigarettes before games as a good luck charm and their motto was ‘if we smoke heaters in the cage, we will smoke heaters in the game’
Christian Yelich on this:
“You walk by the cage and see the cigs lit and you’re like, the boys are ready to rock.”

If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over & expecting different results, what does this say about voters?

Make The Bill Grass Again 🗣️
The first two seasons KSU Stadium was open for K-State Wildcat football (1968 & 1969), the field surface was natural grass—as shown in the first two photos.
Between the 1969 & 1970 seasons, the grass was torn out, asphalt was laid down, and “Astro Turf” was installed over the hard surface. The playing field has been synthetic ever since.
The fourth photo shows the “Super Turf” field that was used when I played. It was hard as a rock.
“Field Turf” was installed in 2002 and different versions of this rubber pellet-based playing surface have been used since at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

I will be at every Cats game I can be as long as they play them, I’ll always want the lads to do well and support the program, but it’s just a sad reality that with the Big 12 title game dying, we have lost our North Star.
What we were playing for will no longer exist. Now, we’re playing to go get killed in the 2nd round by Ohio State. I grew up dreaming every fall of Kansas City and later Arlington, because it would show that little ole K-State was the class of the Big 12 conference. I didn’t care about Oregon or Alabama, I wanted to beat KU, OU, Iowa State, Texas, Oklahoma State. There’s no realistic exclamation point for a good regular season at a Big 12 land grant anymore.
The worst part is absolutely no one, including the brand names, wanted this. They killed the greatest sport on Earth with the greatest regular season to ever be contested so a handful of suits could line their pockets. The games don’t matter from 2027 forward. It makes me want to throw up.

Intelligence must draw on memory. The mind must not simply compile data — as an algorithm now does more quickly than we can — but recall lived experiences, which contain depths of meaning that only the human soul can recognize, and connect more deeply with the goodness of these experiences. Everything that is good begins “with the Spirit” and thus possesses a breath, a dynamism and a sense of communion that, once experienced, are engraved upon the heart. vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…
