Jack Grove speaks the truth about his investigation of Jason Arday for Times Higher Education, which never came to the fore because someone, presumably Arday, sent a fearsome defamation law firm after THE and his editors, spooked, spiked the story.
Had this not happened, Grove would've broken the story and not the so-called race realist Nathan Cofnas. This would have undermined claims that the report was grounded in an invidious, racist motive.
So who is to blame, really, for how the story did finally come to the fore?
And was it not The Guardian and The New York Times that published some of the most damning findings that undermined Arday's credibility and demonstrated that he was a serial fabulist and that Cambridge lowered the bar for him?
Replying to @jgro_the
Recognition from fellow journalists is much appreciated as this is undoubtedly a difficult and polarising story, with a tragic outcome. Many people still do not accept its legitimacy but it was an important public interest story which sparked public debate about key issues of our age timeshighereducation.com/opi…

This ad from @VivekGRamaswamy will go down in history as one of the most disgraceful ever aired, and that will be the only reason anyone ever remembers Vivek at all
Amy Acton's stepfather's surviving biological daughter spoke to The Daily Mail when they knocked on her door in Ohio, while sobbing.
She said: She believed Amy's story, because her father raped her sister more than once (the victim in this 1974 indictment); she remembered Amy lived in a tent with Donna and Cledith; it's been terrible for her family to see Vivek's ad run in Ohio; and she heard rumors her father had victimized even more young girls.

A little humility, please.
Choosing to govern with the support of #Israel's two #Arab parties may seem like a straightforward political calculus 6,000 miles away but let's not forget that the Joint List, by far the largest of the two, ran on a platform in which it described itself as "a genuine democratic alternative to the racist #Zionist consensus" -- meaning not just an alternative to @netanyahu but to the fundamental idea of the state.
The @gadi_eisenkot-led coalition may ultimately decide to rely on their votes to oust the current government but let's not insult people who have devoted their lives to protecting Israel to suggest this is an easy or simple decision. And if they decide against that path, they may have a very good reason.

All the proud declarations that Israel’s democracy gives 2 million Arab citizens the vote will ring increasingly hollow if the opposition refuses to govern with their support — even if that means leaving Netanyahu in power.

Pathetic.
Then you expressed yourself in a seriously lax, inappropriate and frankly incendiary way from a church pulpit, not befitting someone who purports to be working as a serious academic. Did you have no regard for the nature of the place nor the reputation of your hosts? @aljhlester

Israeli opposition leader theoretically has enough seats to oust Netanyahu. The problem is he'd need the support from the Arab parties. And if they join government, then the non-Arab parties will no longer support him.

Bleak for GOP: The Dems will have an almost 30K lead in NV, or 5.6 points when today's mail is counted. The Clark firewall will be at 45K or so, not seen since the heyday of The Reid Machine when Harry was alive.

18 years ago Jay-Z became the first rapper to headline Glastonbury & trolled Oasis when they said rap had no place there. He came on stage playing their song Wonderwall & then flipped it into 99 Problems and destroyed the stage 😭

I remember in the 1996 Peres vs Netanyahu election going to bed thinking Peres had won waking up to a Netanyahu victory. Likud has indeed lost ground and doesn’t have the mandates to cross 60 plus 1. But it’s clear fat lady hasn’t sung - yet.

This meme is incredibly dumb, yet it gets posted all the time, presumably by people who’ve never bothered to read “On Miracles” directly and are getting it second-hand from bad apologists. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Hume’s argument. A short thread. 1/🧵
