Garage Rugby League stats, data-based degenerate

Six again? More like 2.3 again NRL teams are only conceding an extra 2.3 tackles per set restart, with almost two thirds of them occuring on tackles 1 or 2. Is that really a sufficient punishment for holding down in the ruck or straying offside? rugbyleagueeyetest.com/2021/…

More NRL propoganda in a press release today, ignoring medical experts and the fact major injuries have INCREASED BY 119% in five years. Also ignoring the fact most blowouts this season in 86 years.

Can anyone explain to me what the actual fuck the point of Andrew Abdo is? Like, does he actually do anything, or is he just the Canary M Burns to PVLs Charles Montgomery Burns?

Would love to see some more relevant stats (missed tackles, stoppages, injury/concussion rates). But overall new rules were said to be brought in to increase game speed, ball in play time, unpredictability & fatigue. If none of that has happened, surely needs to be reassessed?
NRL media statement! Comes out swinging. “While there’s a perception the players have never been more fatigued, the data simply does not support that assertion.”

NRL says new rules increase the speed and fatigue of the game to bring back unpredictability and the little man, it is working very well except when people criticise it, in which case there is actually no change to speed or fatigue, but the new rules are still working very well

Dear Mr VLandys, there were too many penalties in the NRL nowadays, thank you for replacing them with six agains. However, there are now too many six agains, please replace these with more penalties. I am not a crackpot.
There it is. NRL to crack down on repeat set restart offenders. Statement just out.

They'll also try to tell you penalties are down. Which they are, because offside is now a set restart, meaning 3 fewer penalties per game. But set restarts are also down by 1 per game compared to similar rounds last year. So players are more fatigued AND more compliant?

"The intention of this seasons rule changes was to decrease advantage defenses had, but reducing them to the point of exhaustion & unable to complete a tackle may not be the optimal way of doing it" Missed tackles are up 23% in 2021, is it fatigue? rugbyleagueeyetest.com/2021/…

With the new #NRL rules coming under scrutiny, I thought I'd look at when in the match the largest deviances in scoreline occur. It seems the final 5 min of the first half, and the final 15 min of the second half are contributing the most deviation away from the average.

Matty Johns has never seen the NRL so lopsided as it is in 2021 and fears the salary cap is failing to stop the competition from becoming lopsided. 😬 dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/…

Replying to @CTObstruction
A reminder that the Bulldogs had last year 3 halves all under 25. Rotated them every week to play alongside someone who had already passed on a contract for next year and are now surprised that those halves need more time to develop. I for one am shocked.

Reminder that time in play hasn't increased under the new rules, things aren't necessarily "faster" and all they've done is remove stoppages which were opportunities for player to recover from fatigue
Time in play for the #NRL this season hasn't changed after a very wet Round 2, but the change in style of play I highlighted before the season is continuing unabated rugbyleagueeyetest.com/2021/…

If there has ever been evidence a concussion sub (18th man) is needed, today is that day. Both Sharks & Raiders left with bare bone benches after multiple concussions (+ other injuries). Injuries are part of the fabric of the game but this would be a great move for player safety
