Secondaries are closed because most teens can be left at home whilst parents work.
Primaries are open because parents won't be able to work if children aren't at school.
The decision isn't about health, it's about the economy (as ever!)

To all teachers who have never taught in a pandemic. To all the Principals who have never lead in a pandemic. To those who worked in schools and taught from home. Thank you. You are the glue of many communities. Your love and care will not be forgotten. #thankateacherday

Some countries whose educational impact we admire do not start formal schooling until age 6. Bringing 4 year olds back into school is not for education per se. It is for free, quality child care & stimulation - could be provided in other ways. 7 to 11 years need school.

To clarify, teachers are not wanting to stay home or shirk work. All educators want to be at school with the children they love, care for and have worked so hard for in the current challenges we face. But they want to open when it is safe to do so; when they can keep schools safe

Today we honor St. Gianna Molla, who courageously battled a difficult pregnancy in order to save her unborn daughter. That daughter, also named Gianna, was at her mother's canonization in 2004. Patron of mothers, physicians, and the unborn, pray for us!

Good luck everyone.

A sincere thank you to all in Education who are quietly, thoughtfully and determinedly serving children, staff and communities in this time of need. Those doing it without need for recognition, praise and Empire building should be really proud of the integrity of their actions.

I despair at my timeline this morning. We are a few weeks in to a crisis that has months - possibly years - to run and people are already trying to conduct the inquiry that will come afterwards. Is it too much to ask that we focus on what to do now rather than who to blame? – at Croydon, London

It is hard to find the words to express my debt to the NHS for saving my life.
The efforts of millions of people across this country to stay home are worth it. Together we will overcome this challenge, as we have overcome so many challenges in the past. #StayHomeSaveLives

Hmmm
Am I being over sceptical?
It seems every "journalist" that lurches across my TV screen says something like "I'm being inundated with people contacting me to say they don't have PPE"
Who are all of these "people" "inundating" "journalists" with PPE stock level updates?

‘@BorisJohnson is only ill because he led from the front. He is no armchair general. It is a testimony to his commitment to the office of Prime Minister.
I pray for him, his family and the Country.

The visit to the Blessed Sacrament is an extremely necessary way to conquer the devil. Visit Our Lord frequently and the devil will not come out victorious against you...
