Wagner in Africa In the Central African Republic (CAR), a complex geopolitical scenario unfolds, involving various international and local forces. The area is tense with foreign military presence, including Russian Wagner Group mercenaries, Rwandan soldiers, and UN peacekeepers. Amidst this, rumors circulate about American intentions to counter Russian influence. The local population is largely resigned or supportive due to the semblance of stability brought by mercenaries, despite their often brutal tactics. The CAR government navigates these dynamics, leveraging foreign interests to attempt to gain autonomy and development aid. This situation exemplifies the broader struggles and geopolitical games in post-colonial African states, where foreign powers and private military companies play significant roles in shaping political and economic landscapes.
