The youngest British soldier of WW1 was just 12 years old. His name was Sidney Lewis, a boy from London who ran away from home in August 1915 without telling his parents. His parents had absolutely no idea where their young son had disappeared to, until a soldier back from the front lines on leave mentioned seeing him in France. Sidney easily tricked army recruiters who were more than happy to turn a blind eye to underage boys eager to fight. By the time he was 13, he was operating heavy machine guns in the 106th Machine Gun Company right in the thick of the Battle of the Somme. He survived six weeks of hell in the Battle of Delville Wood, enduring some of the most horrific casualties of the entire war. Desperate to save her child, his mother tracked down his military unit and sent a frantic letter to the War Office demanding his release, attaching his birth certificate as absolute proof. The army had no choice but to discharge him and send him home to his family. It wasn't until 2013 that historians and the Imperial War Museum officially authenticated his record, confirming that a 12 year-old boy truly braved the worst of the Great War. Lest we forget.

🚨 Islam Awareness Month 🚨 DAY 7 As a veteran, I find the timing of Islamophobia Awareness Month during our Remembrance period deeply offensive. November is when Britain pauses to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms. Yet, against that backdrop, we are being asked to devote an entire month to a campaign that risks framing legitimate concerns about Islamist extremism as prejudice. This is no coincidence. The timing and messaging deserve serious scrutiny. It risks obscuring a very real and uncomfortable history: terrorist attacks carried out in the name of Islam, including by British-born extremists who have murdered and scarred innocent people on our own streets. We should be able to remember our fallen, acknowledge the threat of Islamist terrorism and challenge genuine prejudice without one being used to silence discussion of the other. I find the timing distasteful, the messaging deeply questionable and the implications for national security impossible to ignore. I will not be posting an “Awareness” post on Sunday. Out of respect for our fallen, Remembrance Sunday deserves our undivided attention.

There’s a long way to go, obviously, but I’ve never been more confident that we’re going to take our country back. It’s on.

This statue captures one of the most miraculous moments in modern history: the Christmas Truce of 1914. Amidst the freezing trenches of World War 1, enemy rifles fell silent. British and German soldiers stepped into No Man's Land, shook hands, shared photos of their loved ones, and played a football match. They were just young men missing home on Christmas Day, choosing empathy over war. The tragic reality? The very next day, they were ordered back to their trenches, forced to kill the men they had just shared a laugh with. Lest we forget.

The Mayor of London and the British Muslim Trust are backing Islamophobia Awareness Month, a campaign co-founded by the Muslim Engagement and Development Group (MEND). Successive governments have followed a policy of non-engagement with MEND since 2009 because of its extremist views. The FSU has also exposed links between all five members of the Working Group tasked with drafting the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition and Islamist organisations, including MEND. Sadiq Khan posted on X: “This Islamophobia Awareness Month, we must shine a light on the abhorrent hatred and discrimination Muslims continue to face”. Why are the Mayor of London and a taxpayer-funded NGO promoting a campaign whose co-founder has been cited in Parliament for its “Islamist orientation and views”? Genuine hatred of Muslims should not be tolerated. But silencing legitimate criticism of Islam through the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition is not the answer. Existing laws already protect people from discrimination based on their religious beliefs. As Fiyaz Mughal writes in The Telegraph: “The sad reality is that having a month-long campaign pushing the message that things are bad for Muslims in Britain does not help integration. Instead, it adds to the narrative of Islamist extremists.” Read more below in @Telegraph 👇

A teacher from Batley has been in hiding for five years after showing his religious studies class a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad during a lesson about the Charlie Hebdo massacre. On this week’s episode of the FSU Podcast, FSU Director of Policy and Research @DavidRoseUK speaks to the teacher’s friend, local activist Paul Halloran. They discuss how a religious studies lesson approved by the school's managment triggered street protests, death threats, and institutional capitulation.   David also asks whether Paul thinks his friend will ever be able to live a normal life again. Paul’s answer is blunt: “No.” Watch the podcast on the FSU YouTube channel 👇

The Free Speech Union exposed that all five members of the Working Group tasked with drafting the official definition of Islamophobia had troubling links to Islamist organisations, including the Muslim Council of Britain and MEND. The Working Group held a consultation so people could help shape what became the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition. Given the public interest, the FSU asked which groups and individuals had been consulted. Shadow Justice Secretary Nick Timothy submitted a Freedom of Information request. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) replied that it had deleted all the responses — in what appears to be against the Government’s own data policy. The FSU then threatened Angela Rayner’s department with legal action. Now the department’s most senior civil servant says the responses do exist and remain on its data system, but the department will not disclose who was consulted. So what is going on? Were we told the responses had been deleted to conceal the fact that Islamist extremists had the chance to influence the definition? We are now told that an Islamophobia tsar will be announced imminently. Given Rayner and her department’s record, who on earth could it be?

A hard-working, self-employed man is just trying to get to work. Police have parked in the middle of the road, so he gives them a friendly toot so he can get through. And what happens? The arrogant officers, who are obviously on an ego trip, jump out of the car and try to harass and intimidate him. This is the state of the British police today. Nothing but bully boys. Would you have tooted? Watch it and tell me what you think 👇

FULL VIDEO A Cambridge educator attacks me. Students throw a bottle of water at me and attempt to STEAL my equipment. Others openly mock the death of Charlie Kirk. This was, by far, the most VIOLENT campus debate event I have ever held.
A foreign member of Antifa violently ambushed me as I was wrapping up a debate stand in Cambridge. They grabbed the table, threw it at me, and then began attacking both me and my cameraman. More footage to come. The scenes today were absolutely ridiculous.

Why was the 1,500-year-old Buddha statue in Afghanistan destroyed? Because it was considered haram under Sharia. One thing people haven’t considered about the Islamization of the West is that they’ll try to destroy all the historical sites and ancient artifacts in order to erase any trace of non-Muslim history and cultural heritage. They did the same everywhere they conquered. The only reason they didn’t demolish the pyramids in Egypt was that it was too difficult, but they tried.
