Many carbon project problems don't start at validation. They start earlier, when spend is committed before the foundations are tested. Pre-feasibility is where that order gets fixed.

Ghana, Zambia, Senegal, Morocco and Kenya are among the countries advancing Article 6.2 implementation. As carbon markets develop, the focus is increasingly on building systems to deliver high-integrity credits for investors.

64 years of independence. 🇺🇬
Here’s to a stronger, greener and more sustainable Uganda for generations to come.
Happy Independence Day, Uganda!

The cheapest time to find a serious carbon project risk is before full development. Pre-feasibility helps identify weaknesses early, saving time and development capital.

"Investors aren't looking for the biggest climate story. They're looking for the smallest number of unresolved questions.”

Investors don't fund the best climate story. They fund the best de-risked one. Methodology, MRV, rights and buyer pathway need to be resolved, not assumed.

A vital truth. Climate change is a systemic crisis threatening economies, health, and human dignity globally. Solving it demands integrated policy, scalable market solutions, and urgent action across every sector.
#ClimateActionNow
What if I told you that Climate Change is not only an environmental crisis?
It is an economic crisis.
A food crisis.
A water crisis.
A health crisis.
A development crisis.
A security challenge.
And ultimately, a human crisis.
#ClimateActionNow
Good question. Energy expansion and climate resilience can no longer be treated separately. Integrating a "vulnerability test" into energy projects isn't about slowing down development, it's necessary to de-risk high risk projects.
Thank you for highlighting this information.
A difficult question for African leaders and policymakers is, if climate change is already threatening food security, infrastructure, water systems and livelihoods, should every new energy investment be judged only by how much energy or revenue it produces or also by how much climate vulnerability it creates?
The answer will shape Africa’s development trajectory for decades.
This is a food for thought!

This week we opened up what actually happens after you contact CAL: the process, a real case study, and the readiness-vs-impact question every developer eventually faces.
Next week: what investors actually look for in a carbon project pipeline.

A project can have real climate impact and still not be carbon-market ready. Methodology, baseline data, additionality, MRV and carbon rights must be resolved early.
Talk to CAL to close these gaps before they become costly mistakes.

"Climate impact and carbon-market readiness are related, but they are not the same thing.” Mark Mutaahi, Venture Lead, Carbon Access Lab.

Carbon buyers increasingly look beyond the headline emissions claim.
Methodology, additionality, MRV, safeguards, permanence and project rights all affect confidence in a credit.
Buyer confidence starts earlier than most developers think. Comment below.

What happens when you bring a project to CAL?
We start with the basics: project concept, methodology available data, rights, MRV requirements and key gaps.
The aim is to know what is credible, missing, and what should follow.

For East African developers, feasibility has two dimensions: the carbon standard's requirements and the host country's approval rules. Both affect timelines.

"A lot of times, regulators try to protect, as opposed to enable, as a result, it impedes the ability of either the private sector or smaller players."

Humanity is speeding towards a climate catastrophe.
That’s the stark warning from the latest @UNEP report.
Every fraction of a degree of warming will cost lives, deepen inequalities & push ecosystems closer to irreversible damage.
We must raise ambition, accelerate #ClimateAction & fight for humanity. NOW.
