Thames originated in Brythonic/Welsh as Tafwys, a name similar to Welsh rivers like the Taf which runs through Cardiff and the Taf in west Carmarthenshire. Severn still called Hafren in Welsh and Dee is Dyfrdwy. Clyde - Clud in Welsh. Glasgow - Glas cae - Green Field in Welsh!
