Through the Rural Health Transformation Program thanks to @POTUS’s Working Families Tax Cuts, $8 MILLION will support healthcare workers, upgrade medical equipment and facilities, and help prevent and manage chronic disease.

Can anyone at @rheem explain why I get these lock outs weekly? $12k unit and I have to deal with this. The installer says he’s having similar issues with these units and tells me rheem has no fix.

#txlege I have witnessed the closures of 2 independent #pharmacies close in the last 30 days. One being one in our group. It will close its doors 8/28. The other that closed was the 3rd oldest pharmacy in TX. Egregious #pbm contracts and low payments are the cause.

At today's Texas Pharmacy Congress meeting in Austin, the Texas Pharmacy Association is participating in discussions with other Texas #pharmacy organizations and pharmacy schools about the profession's role in rural health transformation.

TPA #pharmacist member and independent #pharmacy owner Paula Grahmann of Halletsville provided invited testimony this afternoon to Chair @GaryVanDeaver and the Texas House Public Health Committee concerning how pharmacists can play an even greater role in the state's rural health transformation efforts.
"Texas has already invested heavily in rural health transformation. To maximize that investment, we should remove unnecessary barriers that prevent pharmacists from fully contributing to patient care," she said. "When pharmacists are allowed to practice at the top of their education and training, patients benefit, providers benefit, and rural communities become stronger."

"Independent #pharmacies are closing at a rate of at least one per week—not because patients need fewer medications, not because competitors can provide care less expensively, but because vertically integrated PBMs have discovered they can systematically underpay independent pharmacies while overregulation limits our ability to adapt and expand services," said TPA Independent Pharmacy Academy Chair Crystal McEntire. "The path that we are on is unsustainable."
McEntire was invited to testify today before the Texas Senate Health & Human Services Committee and Chair @LoisKolkhorst as it examined the role of PBMs in health care costs and monitored the implementation of SB 1236, passed last year. #PBMReform #txlege
