It’s a very good movie but if your takeaway is that Elizabeth Holmes might be a neurodivergent victim I think you have forcibly disconnected yourself from reality.
More specifically, she *obviously* gets The Who’s on First joke—and is profoundly motivated to pretend she doesn’t.

People often ask me why I advocate so strongly for independent physician practice. I am an employed doctor, after all.
Well, this is why👇
Employed docs are just widget makers. Produce RVU, click the boxes, follow the protocols.
They’ll replace us as soon as they can get away with it.
A thriving independent physician sector keep us all safer.
Anyone not surprised pediatrics is the first to go? Silly employee docs, your heads are the next to roll.

America can never fall except from within because the rest of the world is simply unprepared to enter the Appalachian mountains and have drones spray painted to look like the General Lee drop IEDs made out of beer cans on them.
Throwing a gauzy skirt and some colored LEDs on these puppies and playing live action Pac-Man.
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

messaging my wife a link containing proof of her husband cheating on her from an anonymous instagram account and then when she clicks on it texting her to let her know she failed the family phishing test and she has to retake my cybersecurity course
Early in his career, my dad worked in a lab at Harvard. There was only one other young guy in the lab and he had an interesting hobby: he’d go out to western Mass alone, wait til it was pitch dark, take heroic doses of acid, and scream around the rural roads on his motorcycle.

Ilhan Omar was admitted as a ‘refugee,’ her father was a senior military figure involved in a very ugly military adventure, she possibly misrepresented her birth date to meet citizenship eligibility, she maybe married her possibly gay brother to try to get him citizenship, she’s had a litany of very questionable financial disclosures, and she was thick as thieves with some of the most outrageous welfare scammers in Minneapolis.
What are we doing here?? Her being where she is demonstrates a complete lack of standards across an extraordinary range of social, legal, political, and administrative domains.

🧵In 2019, California billionaire tax crusader Gabriel Zucman made an astonishing claim to the NY Times: billionaires pay a lower avg tax rate than poor people in the US.
I noticed something fishy though: Zucman's NYT chart did not match his own published data from a 2018 paper

The odd sense that "everyone" leaves people out explains a lot of contemporary politics
I think about this a lot — that is, while failures of instruction are a problem, there’s nothing quite as bad as imparting to a bunch of plastic-brained suckers an anti-truth that they may carry with them for years. Teachers need a Hippocratic Oath; primum non nocere.

Ironically a great movie on propaganda, because it reveals who are the people who are tricked by just making characters wear nazi uniforms into not analyzing the content of the work to see it holds out. Essentially whoever thinks they're nazis is easy to manipulate.

“The Simpsons” was a beloved animated sitcom that ran for ten legendary seasons and concluded in 1999. The show was celebrated for what was widely perceived as a near perfect run that wrapped before it wore out its concept and overstayed its welcome.
Creator Matt Groening and showrunner James L. Brooks famously decided to bring the show to a conclusion after experiencing the negative audience reaction to the season 9 episode “The Principal and the Pauper,” in which it was revealed that the school’s principal was actually an impostor who had stolen the real Seymour Skinner’s identity. Brooks did not want to sully the show’s legacy by doing a bunch of weird episodes as the franchise slid into mediocrity and cultural irrelevance, so the writers and cast decided instead to go out on top and end things on a high note.
However, because of its centrality in 90s pop culture, a long-running Internet joke is to pretend “The Simpsons” is still on the air, a premise that gets more absurd and deranged with each passing year. If this show were still producing new episodes, it would be in its 38th season now, and most of the voice cast would be in their 80s.
The joke is to imagine how distorted this charming show would have become if it had been stretched out to more than 800 episodes. Comedy posters on “weird Twitter” used to try to top each other by making up terrible ideas for what modern episodes of the show might be like.
For example, a viral 2012 tweet imagined an episode where Lady Gaga helps Lisa Simpson with her self esteem. In 2019, popular shitposter Megan Amram originated the premise of Bart Simpson becoming a men’s rights activist to protest a gender-swapped reboot of “Itchy and Scratchy.”
But perhaps the most elaborate Internet “Simpsons” joke was a 2017 YouTube mockumentary “The Problem With Apu,” in which the comedian Hari Kondabolu ironically pretended to be offended by the charming and innocuous convenience store owner character Apu.
Everyone thought this was hilarious, especially since the show had been off the air for nearly two decades when the mockumentary was released. So, Twitter ran with the joke by pretending to “cancel” Apu, and the viral gag memorably resulted in the character’s voice actor, Hank Azaria, recognizing the meme by promising never to perform the character again, which everybody thought was really funny since Azaria had been retired for years.
Now, nearly a decade later, fans are pretending that the show — which has now been off the air longer than most people tweeting about it have been alive— has brought back the “cancelled” character with a new racially-appropriate voice actor.
I actually don’t think this is that funny, and I kind of think the gag of pretending “The Simpsons” is still airing new episodes has overstayed its welcome, a mistake the actual show “The Simpsons” would never have made.
If you haven’t seen this 1990s classic, which — and I cannot emphasize this enough — ended after 10 seasons in 1999, you can watch all the episodes on Disney+ (except the one with Michael Jackson that got pulled from streaming).

The black rifle coffee alpha male takes a sip from his thermos and looks out from the bunker to the battlefield, it’s hell out there. “Perfect” He thinks
He adjusts the sights on his custom-built 16-inch 6mm ARC AR-15 with a Proof Research carbon-fiber barrel, JP Enterprises silent captured spring system, and a Geissele Super Dynamic Enhanced two-stage trigger. He picked it because the trigger felt smooth against his $350 carbon fiber combat gloves, and the alloy magazines were 20 grams lighter against his $2200 Kevlar vest.
He mindlessly feels at his tactical pouch, he has a 10 year supply of testosterone cypionate in it, just in case the pharmacies get hit. He smirks, “Daddy needs his combat fuel.” He’s been on TRT for 7 years, his testes have cobwebs on them.
He steps out of the bunker, he’s spent years training for this moment, doing weighted carries, getting “don’t tread on me” tattoos, bow hunting, having a beard.
“It’s fuckin showtime.” He announces.
Just then he feels something lightly tap his leg. He glances down. It’s a 17 dollar drone off temu. It has a decal on it.
“Is that… hentai?”
His legs are blown smooth off.
12 miles away in a disgusting room illuminated only by the degenerate glow of purple LED strip lighting, a 17 year old leans back in his cum stained gamer chair. He’s grown so frail and sickly his friends and family keep mistaking him for Asmongold.
He grabs another 30mg vyvanse and washes it down with a cold chicken nugget.
“GG faggot”
He’s killed 500 men.
