I want a fucking button to press on every single website to opt out of being shown A.I. images/content/ads/etc.
Rewatching Girls at the moment - it is still so fresh and funny, but it is also indicative of a more hopeful time. Feeling nostalgic and a bit melancholy about it
A particular level of cruelty to that, above and beyond the ordinary
Replying to @DanNeidle
We can't see the final injunction, but we can see an interim injunction. It is *insane*.
Berki was forbidden from telling *anyone*. The only exceptions: Thames Valley Police (to challenge its decision), and lawyers (if involved in the proceedings).
Not even friends or family.

Hello, this is Chris Hansen with Dateline NBC... Your Machine... has just Stolen from me.
I think it's saying that anyone can be the bad guy. Even if you're trying to catch the bad guy, if you take it too far, or compromise morally, you become the bad guy.
It's saying: there are no comfortable lines to draw and stay safely on one side of, the landscape always changes
Wever's character casually acting like a groomer, in the supposed pursuit of catching groomers. So queasy-making, deeply disturbing.
This film really doesn't pull any punches
My favourite thing about Primetime is it just never lets you get comfy - there's layers on layers. I referred to Pattinson as playing a villain (I think is closest to how he plays it) but antihero is also in there, motive is the hinge
I do think this should win an Oscar tbh. Who else could even pull this off convincingly? Wever is excellent supporting, too
I think it was the clear ambivalence on whether it will end humanity, combined with the promise that it might, among other things
I'll be v interested to see if today's result resonates in UK politics, bc we all know they've had their heads up Big Tech's arse and there are lessons here they might want to reflect on
Note for @UKLabour - Data centers, very unpopular with electorates! Political corruption, very unpopular with electorates. Etc

I’ve come to think @elonmusk ended up doing Dems and progressives a huge favor by turning this place into a fetid swamp of feral right wing freaks where the most prominent members of their coalition post like cartoon movie villains and think it makes them look cool.

People across America rejected data centers during last night’s midterm election. Proposals related to data centers were explicitly on the ballot in more than 40 races across 13 states. People voted against data centers in 38 of them and counting 404media.co/american-voters-…
