Under capitalism if you steal from your employer you go to jail but if your employer steals from you then you need to win a class action lawsuit to get back what they stole, and they suffer zero consequences. Capitalism is all about using state power to protect capital by force.
Since 2023, more than 200,000 Dashers in New York City were underpaid or paid late under the City’s delivery worker pay rules. These errors were unintentional, but that doesn’t make them acceptable. Dashers should be paid in full, on time, every time. We take full responsibility, and we’re deeply sorry. We’ve reached a $131.5 million settlement with the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection. Every impacted Dasher will receive the amount they are owed, and they’ll be contacted directly with payment details. We understand the impact of even one missed or late payment. We’ve addressed the issues that caused these errors and made changes to prevent them from happening again. Read more here: about.doordash.com/en-us/new….

theguardian.com/us-news/2026/s… The City of New York asserts this was not a mistake. “For years, DoorDash failed to count every hour worked by delivery workers,” Mayor Mamdani said. “This was not a rounding error or an accidental mistake.“

My politics will always be that no one, much less a survivor of 9/11, should have $190,000 in medical debt while living in the world’s richest country.
Marcy Borders, otherwise known as the "Dust Lady," accumulated about $190,000 in medical debt battling stomach cancer before passing away on August 24, 2015, at the age of 42. She couldn't afford vital prescription medications to manage her chemo and nausea, and she believed her cancer was triggered by the toxic smoke she inhaled. 25 years later, we know that her hunch was true.

Breathing in hefty lungfuls of smoke as I get explosive diarrhea from salad, the sky turns apocalyptic orange while oil companies drill in protected lands, screwworms are eating cattle alive and the president just paid $6 million for rape. And I’m also able to bet on all of it!
Smell smoke this morning? Its coming from a wildfire outbreak in Ontario. While it should not impact air quality much today, smoke at the surface could increase Wednesday into Thursday, potentially reducing visibilities and air quality. High temperatures may also be limited.

Calling out "Capitalist Mismanagement" is so based. They dont have an answer for this at all.
Zohran just said "Socialists just solved years of Capitalist mismanagement" The State of New York just gave his administration an $8B bailout and he deferred pension payments. This is bold face lying.

Shut them all down, we can live without AI data centers we can’t live without clean water.
AI data centers will use up enough clean water for 1.3 billion people by 2030 according to a United Nations report.
