Very long-awaited, but we're very excited to share Candice Byers’ published work in @embojournal highlighting the impact genetic background has on differentiation bias in mouse embryonic stem cells! 🐁🧬 @jacksonlab @TuftsGSBS tinyurl.com/a6rwp4s9 (a 🧵)

ALT Synopsis of study: We used diverse ESCs and differentiated to EpiLCs and EBs to identify variation in cell state transitions (top). We find that genetically determined chromatin states bias differentiation, with B6 toward neuroectoderm and D2 toward definitive endoderm (middle). Lastly, we used QTL mapping to identify hotspots of trans-regulation of chromatin that impact pluripotency and cell state transitions (bottom).
It was great having you all up to Bar Harbor to learn about the 'diverse' work you're doing! 🧫🧬
Thank you to @martinperaJAX @ChrisBakerLab @Laura_Reinholdt for inviting Tracy to talk about our lab's work at the recent Diversity in a Dish short course at @jacksonlab! What a great time to talk stem cells and enjoy the Maine Fall colors!
Had the opportunity to share some recent work at #cshlTE24 🧬 thanks to @CedricFeschotte and organizers for a great experience!
